LOL at posters who think they know more than our former NFL LB coach who has coached some of the top ranked Ds in the NFL.....

Also, kudos on misspelling our newest Panthers name to insult him. Welcome to Carolina Luke....

LOL just another glorious shining example of how truly dense and mentally incapable CRA is.

But But But...What does he mean not about talent? Doesn't he knew Koochly was all-ACC? Doesn't he know he was safe?! I don't understand!!!!"

It is super easy to pick DL talent late in the draft. We have the best 4 LBers in football. Why have no other team thought of this. LOL!

I don't even know how to reply to this without insulting you.

Go have a glass of warm milk or something

wait is this sarcasm ?

I will pie you if it was.

What if Beason and Davis are not ready or not even close to what they were before?

What if Kuechly is the next Urlacher?

What if the front office believes Kuechly has the skill set to blitz off the edge and create pressure that way?

This is JJ43 we are talking about here, not the cover two.

We are going to see Kuech get after the QB.

Also, we are going to see Kuech matchup with Jimmy Graham.

The problem is the best non-rushing LB in the draft is just a "solid" pick. It's not a great one. I'm rooting for him to succeed and I hope we can address the areas we seemingly have a much greater need in the upcoming rounds. I hope he proves us "whiners" wrong and has a big impact. That'd be awesome, especially if we can get a D-lineman in the 2nd like Still or Worthy and they turn out to be a stud. I'd still rather have gotten Brockers or Cox in the 1st and Zach Brown in the 2nd or Demario Davis in the 4th/5th than Kuechly in the 1st and Still or Worthy in the 2nd.

With that said, Kuechly is a Panther and Brockers and Cox aren't so Kuechly is now my man.

If you kids cant understand why I am upset with this pick then I can't help you.

How many 4-3 LBers were drafted tonight?

How many LBers NOT known for the pass rush were drafted tonight ?

Who on our DLine is going to generate pressure other than CJ?

A 43 LB just won DROY . Yes, he is a pass rusher but still a 43 LB.

Riveras D is about pressuring through scheme.....he bluntly stated he couldn't attack last year bc of injuries. Not sure why people want to keep talking about the D like it is 2 years go and dependent on 4 just beating there man. It is about the front 7 And scheme.....LB injuries and lack of talent prevented us from running our D.

This was TD insurance and also some Beason insurance. Do we expect TD to last more than a few games? I don't. Beason can play outside and our new LB can play inside if we have too. It's also Beason insurance who is coming off a serious injury. Look at our team if Beason/TD are out, at that position. This guy is proven, he can tackle (which we need more of) and he can play RIGHT NOW. Not a bad pick at all. He's not a sexy pick, but he's going to be solid I believe.

Oh and do people forget about Hardy? Guy is still a bit rough but he can get pressure and knock down a lot of passes. Our DE's aren't as bad as people think, CJ/Hardy and Keiser/Applewhite looked decent enough for back ups. Ron Edwards is back at DT and our 2 DT's we spent draft picks on should be much better with a full offseason under their belts and Edwards beside them. Rivera said some time ago he isn't worried about DT.

Now if we can nab Jenkins in the 2nd that'll be nice.

    • I am high, but that’s besides the point! The blue line is not good right now. I’ve said it all year. I don’t think this group meshes well. Slaven has been just OK Niki up and down Miller up and down ghost and Walker have been your most consistent guys. Maybe it comes together more towards the playoffs
    • I was expecting to see more cap room moves by now, which may be to suggest that we are not going to be that aggressive.  I have mixed emotions about that (because I think we have 3 needs on D and 3 needs on O--starters).  If you look to the draft for 3 starters, that is ambitious.  We need 6
    • Yeah we shouldn’t be competing with teams, bidding wise, to sign a WR. There will be one for us and our budget.  I keep saying, how many balls will there be to go around anyway? One thing good I will say for this offense is the ball has been spread around at times. Seems like I remember seeing a large number of guys have caught passes in a game. Or been targeted at least. 3 RBs 4 or 5 WRs 2-3 TEs type of stat lines. 10-11 guys.  Not every week but that happens.    As far as WR in general, we need the smaller agile and quicker component to compliment what is there. After that it should be about depth, having good backups for the starters so we can run things consistently still, if a guy is out for a week or two. That is especially important in game where you have to finish the game with who you made active.
