LOL just another glorious shining example of how truly dense and mentally incapable CRA is.

But But But...What does he mean not about talent? Doesn't he knew Koochly was all-ACC? Doesn't he know he was safe?! I don't understand!!!!"

Yes. Insulting me will soon prove to the board you are smarter than Ron Rivera. If only Ron would listen to you our defense could improve......silly Ron. Had to be luck all those great Ds he coached.

And again, good call on misspelling Luke's name to insult our newest addition who happened to be one of the best players in college football last year.

If you kids cant understand why I am upset with this pick then I can't help you.

How many 4-3 LBers were drafted tonight?

How many LBers NOT known for the pass rush were drafted tonight ?

Who on our DLine is going to generate pressure other than CJ?

I am in the wrong if where I said he was pluznoski/connor/anderson/lauranitis etc. I cant predict where the kid will end up in 4 years. But I know what Championship teams have done in the draft and have this much money and this many first round picks invested in Lbers isnt their game plan.

Sadly I feel the same way. I was looking for more than solid myself as well Kurb. Guess we better be happy LB was not a problem last year or we would have selected one over Cam.

Kuechs is going to help so much on 3rd and 4, when fuging Drew Brees and the Saints run though little dig routes, where they squat in the zone and pick up easy first downs.

His zone pass coverage skills are going to make a HUGE difference.

my thoughts exactly. I can even see why they drafted him because he sniffed out those plays and killed them in college so many times. speed of the game is different but I think he can handle it.

I dont like it...still. I will support the pick because he is now a panther, but logically someone is going to have 2 move outside be it beason or luke. Both are better at inside linebacker and have limited pass rush moves if any. Looking at the end of this round how the draft is shaping up,you have your pick between zac brown micheal kindricks and lavonte david. all who are more suited on the outside than luke and better pass rushers. I'll be hoping for the best but this one still kinda urks me. Even if he is the next great one on opening day he will be on the bench unless your releasing davis. you dont draft a guy to be on the bench or situational in the top 10.

I hope my insults piss him off so he leaves as soon as his contract is up.

Until they realize they can just run on us for 5 yards a pop.

I dunno, maybe it was just me, but it seemed like nearly every third down conversion last year was a RB or TE beating the LB that was on them. I know that is not really the case, but that is how it felt watching our games.

We also got gashed on the outside much more so than the gaps the DTs are responsible for...LB was the main reason our D was a joke. The biggest reason we were gashed on the ground, the reason the safties had to overplay the run, and Rivera couldn't bring pressure.

Didn't you know?

Kuech's is also an awesome run defender.

Its almost like he is really talented or something.

You're probably right, it's not like a metric ton of his tackles happened 4-5 yards past the LOS at BC.

This was TD insurance and also some Beason insurance. Do we expect TD to last more than a few games? I don't. Beason can play outside and our new LB can play inside if we have too. It's also Beason insurance who is coming off a serious injury. Look at our team if Beason/TD are out, at that position. This guy is proven, he can tackle (which we need more of) and he can play RIGHT NOW. Not a bad pick at all. He's not a sexy pick, but he's going to be solid I believe.

Oh and do people forget about Hardy? Guy is still a bit rough but he can get pressure and knock down a lot of passes. Our DE's aren't as bad as people think, CJ/Hardy and Keiser/Applewhite looked decent enough for back ups. Ron Edwards is back at DT and our 2 DT's we spent draft picks on should be much better with a full offseason under their belts and Edwards beside them. Rivera said some time ago he isn't worried about DT.

Now if we can nab Jenkins in the 2nd that'll be nice.

Does that roster you just ran down sound solid to you? Compare it to the Gaints D. There backup lineman could start for us, but not their linebackers. We can't fix everything at once but 3 LBers and 2 RB's in 7 years doesn't help fixing things. My biggest Hurney complaint.

    • I'm really not stressing about upgrading from Bryce. I'm frustrated with our inability (or refusal) to recognize overall bad QB performance and failure to seriously address the issue. QB is the most impactful position on the field, and we're not only settling for what we've been given to this point, but we've rewarded it with a fully guaranteed 5th year extension for a player that's never played 2 NFL franchise QB quality games back to back in 3 seasons. I can't understand how that's ok from a coach's or GM's viewpoint. Successful franchises don't do things like this. It just doesn't make sense.  We do not have a top half of the league QB right now. Since we don't have that player, we should be looking for him. Pickett isn't it. Grier isn't it. Bryce hasn't proven he is yet. Until you have that sure fire franchise QB, you keep looking. You're not consistently making the playoffs, a deep run, or a SB appearance without one.  What's the worst that could happen? We end up with 2 potential number 1 QBs? How horrible.
    • Easy to understand Pickett, if this is anywhere close to on point. Canales wants to get as close to Bryce as he can- get the pace and timing in the throws as close a he can to Bryce. So the other players don’t have to adjust so much, to a new guy.       If Cam was the 1, he would look for a rocket arm.  But Bryce is the 1. Look for limited in the same way.  Low velocity, plenty of air under it, feels just like home when Picket comes in. And you have the guys on the second team not having such a radical adjustment (if they have to play) like with Dalton to Bryce.    Enter Grier. I guess we will collect those types.
    • Best part is if we draft him, we can also use him as our fourth and one QB sneaker
