You don't need to win the Heisman or get all those awards to get acclaim dude. Last time I checked a crap load of those that won heismans were busts... or worse.

If you don't like Luck for whatever reason say it. But don't deny his skills. He's won bowls. Not the greatest thing in the world but it means something to him. Sure he's come second in the Heisman, but who gives a fug. He's been in the battle for those awards. If you can't see that, I don't know what to tell ya.

This thread is moot anyway, he hasn't thrown the ball in the NFL at all and doesn't have a year like cam. You can't compare the two at all. You can't tell the future either. There's a lot of 'what ifs' in there that it's ridiculous to try and guess.

Don't care, Cam is here had a better season than I ever would have expected out of a first overall qb picked by the Panthers. Wish Luck nothing but the best.

There need be only one reason.. the spread is the way the NFL is going. The defenses have been so strapped by little yellow bean bags for the past decade that there are more cheat defenses that maximize pressure and coverage, Dimes, 4-2-5, etc. To combat this slow move of desperation, gadget-plays, single-eye, WR bubble screens, going for it on 4th, etc. is only a sign of what is to come offensively.

The talent pool largely comes with spread experience. Nobody wants to grind it out anymore and build a program. The college ranks are playing flag football offense and winning in crap leagues going to unnecessary bowls for big money. They are not ready to run or operate inside of a true NFL offense. They also get so much media hype from as far back as soph and jr's in High School, face it, in the league coaches have to find a way to "spread" the ball around to keep all the divas happy. The NFL can't wait to win and so a retrain of the talent pool is out of the question. It's best to maximize skill set as soon as these kids come in the door so..... we are slowly going spread in the NFL.

I am glad we have Cam because not only does that give us a great spread QB, but it puts us ahead of the curve.

I despise the thought that players play harder for Cam than Brady because of his skin color.

Luck IMO, and this is totally my opinion does not have a top 10 arm for the NFL.

Now I have not seen him throw in person, but it seems that an offense like the Saints* or Pats run will be best for him. I'm not sold on him being able to make off balance throws outside the numbers.

Cam, has a top 5 NFL arm, but sometimes throws off of his back foot, and looses some accuracy. That can be coached, weak arms cannot. Although Brees and Brady both have gotten much stronger due to mechanics and good coaching.
