Jones would probably be our #2 WR at the beginning of the season. We can't bank on LaFell and Gettis having a break-out season. I think both have great potential but neither have proven they are capable of becoming our #2 WR. Adding Jones at a cheap price would be a solid pick up.

Jacoby Jones - 31 rec, 512 yards, 16.5 ypc, 2 TDs

Brandon LaFell - 36 rec, 613 yards, 17.0 ypc, 3 TDs

LaFell is slightly better in each category. But when consider that he had TJ Yates as his QB for several games, I think you can call it even. Also, we threw the ball more than the Texans, which can alter the stats.

I'm not guaranteeing him as our #2. I'm just saying, we don't need to be glorifying LaFell and calling Jones a bum when they really aren't far off from each other. Give Jones a chance. Maybe with a better QB and a new system he can play to his full potential.

I hope LaFell and Gettis do tear it up this season. But right now, we can't just sit back and assume they will. We still need to be active (reasonably) in the WR market until we find our guys.

Jones is a combo of gettis and lafell with lafell hands of 2010. When we already have both...no need.
