What Is Gantt's Problem With James Anderson?

uh, sorry guys but James Anderson isn't all that and a bag of potato chips and Will Witherspoon was better, anyone arguing otherwise has some short term memory and a weird hard on for the man,.

the reason James is over Paid is while he is a solid LB'er he excels nowhere, he's literally a dime a dozen player and nothing more.

take off the Witherspoon colores glasses.

James Anderson, Beason and Luke will be a sick LBer tandem, don't understand the hate on Anderson, he started only 7 games in 2009 and still had over 60 Tackles, in 2010 he had 101 solo tackles and 98 solo tackles in 2011, combined tackles for 2010 and 2011 were over 130 each year. He hasn't been used a whole lot as a pass rusher, but he is a good run stopper. I think his contract is good for what he does on the field.

Also, I believe he will starting next year with Beason and Luke, and if Davis is healthy he will be used as a rotationally LBer...

Panther fans should not be hating on Anderson the guy is a consistent LB for us. Gantt should be hating on Hurneys contract skills in general, the guy is not a "genius" he consistently over pays for talent. That being said I'm not mad that he makes 4.4 he will be our starting LB alongside Beason & Kuechly. That trio is going to be a fierce LB core in the NFL. Once Kuechly gets his style of rushing the QB watch out, plus Kuechly hands for a LB is insane. Anderson is a very nice compliment to Beasons and Kuechly smarts, it will give him more leeway to take risks. I for one am excited to see this trio play together and if anyone says otherwise is nuts IMO.

yeah i don't get it either. he was easily a top five 4-3 OLB in 2010. he tackled everything that came to him and he made some big plays. also made some good ones this season (esp the houston interception). however he seemed to whiff on a few tackles this season. but yeah, he will likely be a 2 down backer with the drafting of kuechly who would be playing with beason in nickel packages. i still think he's better than what most 4-3 teams have at OLB. maybe chad greenway, daryl smith, von miller, and lance briggs are better. after that there isn't a lot if any... dunno how he's easily replaceable or anything.

    • At this point, I think Chubba is the odd man out. I hate that, but I think Dowdle gives us more production and big play ability.  But there is still a lot of football to play.  I think it depends on how much Dowdle will want too.
    • I’ve been anti-trade when it comes to Melo, but the way this season has started, it may be time.  I love his game and he’s a cool dude, but I’m starting to think, if he’s your best player, you’re never going to win anything of significance.  Too many brain farts, too many injuries, and ultimately for as fun and entertaining as he is to watch - his game is indeed a thing of beauty - it just doesn’t translate to wins.  And that’s IF he even plays.  I think it’s time to cash out and maximize the return.  I love Melo, but I think it’s pretty clear what the ceiling is for a team where he is the best player.
    • Every NFL team, college program, hell even HS has numerous "what ifs" that got derailed by injury. It's a brutal sport and half the battle is just getting lucky enough to stay healthy. Doesn't matter how durable you are and how well you take care of your body everyone is one weird hit or awkward twist away from a career derailing injury.
