JStew intends to remain a Panther

His statement basically says that he would like to remain a Panther.....if they show him the money.

You can't really read anything more into that statement. It is one that any player would make. What did you expect him to say? I am out of here in one year for a big payday. He is smart enough to know that being politically correct in his statements right now is the smart thing to do.

I hope he does stay. But, I still don't really see it happening.

My biggest concern is Atlanta makes a move for him to replace Turner.

A team I would be worried about (and I honestly am) is the Steelers throwing a shitload of cash his way. They need a RB.

Honestly, I'm surprised they didn't go hard after Tolbert.

You think that Ron Rivera is going to let that happen, seeing as he saw Turner depart from San Diego to Atlanta, leaving an aging Tomlinson? That would be akin to some form of cruel deja vu with a twist of irony. Never in a million years. That would be worse than Stewart reuniting with John Fox.

You do realize that Hurney will either have to slap the franchise tag on Stew, or let him walk to wherever the money is.

It's either cut DWill and sign Stew to a long term deal, or he walks.

I'd honestly rather keep Stewie than DWill... to me, he runs harder between the tackles, and has just as much explosive big play ability. Dwill just has more speed for the edge, and is a little shiftier... but if I had to choose, I'd take Stewie first. That said, I'd like to see them both stay, but can see problems with that happening.

Im sure after this year Stew is gone unless he is injured or has a horrible year. Players say all the right things before they are free to leave but one things stays true, They WANT to get payed, and payed well.

    • Best birthday present ever!
    • People were discussing the new backup QB in comparison the the starter.  Neither has anything close to a cannon.  Video was posted of them throwing.  If people can’t be free to express their opinions without being put on a list of posters who have ruined this place we have a bad situation here. People trying to silence  criticism of the QB.    Maybe actually post about the other players instead of about the other posters. That is where it went off the rails.
    • That's true and we're definitely going to hear more about it as summer progresses. But at the end of the day all of the progress we've made on the roster as a whole will only matter if our passing offense can emerge from the basement of the NFL. In 2023 it was 32 out of 32 in 2024 it was 30th out of 32 and last year it was 26th out of 32. And early in the season we relied heavily on a career year from Rico Dowdle who is no longer on the roster. This is only reinforced by the fact that we (depending on how one views it) effectively took playcalling out of Dave Canales hands and brought in another offensive mind. The elephant in the room isn't going anywhere no matter how much we may not like it.
