I think that Greg Olsen feller will have a huuge season

brethren and gal(s),

I think he's gonna be a huge part of the offense this year and can get something like 800 yds 10 tds or what not. This offense is going to be a juggernaut. Smitty-LaFell-Olsen-Tolbert-Stewart are all passing assets to Newton with more to come in Murphy and hopefully Gettis. If Cam really gets going on the passing TDs this season, Olsen will be a major benefactor and it remains my favorite acquisition with the new staff.

I think we'll see a lot of this:

I think Olsen has learned a lot from Shockey during his time here. He's definitely playing more aggressive than he was last season. I'm looking forward to Olsen playing more of a tight end role rather than just being a big wide receiver.

I thought we were going to regret not re-signing Shockey, but Barnidge is showing improvement as well. He's really making his presence known as a receiving threat. We're finally seeing some flashes of his often-mentioned pass-catching ability. I would like to see what he can do with Cam passing him the ball.

Passing Td distribution:

Smitty 10

Lafell 10

Olsen 10

Murphy 7

Pilares 3

Williams 5

Stewart 5

Tolbert 5

Newton 1

I'm optimistic!

inb4 someone does not complain about your assesment but do argue that this is the precise reason we shouldnt have paid Williams/Stewart all the money..

My thought on the newton td catch. Batted ball caught in front of the line of scrimmage and run in for the score!!!!

I'm optimistic!

Rucker seems to think Olsen, Barnidge, and Hartsock are good at both blocking and catching...

Before last night, I wouldn't have thought that Harrsock could catch at all... But I'll be damned if that dude didn't completely lay out for a laser from Cam that I honestly thought was a TD. No biggie, a botched snap later and Stew got to pay dirt!

    • Absolutely.  However, when it comes down to making decisions, he needs to let the surgeons operate and not grab a scalpel because he can.  I look at it from his perspective-if he is lacking confidence in the GM (as he should have with Fitterer) or coaches (Rhule and Reich were not right for this team) then I can see some micromanagement.  Human nature.  So you make good points.
    • @GloTheofficial sitting on a hidden gem and she ain't even drop it yet...I guess I'll look forward to this for the summer since..... SOMEONE AINT DROPPING....this heat tho, need #keyshiacole as a ft ! Maybe she just called up XL because he's an expert on dropping things?!?
    • Regardless of an early June injury, the WR room, at least on paper right now, has never been deeper.  AT needs to be the slot possession WR (Ricky Proehl) and Coker is quite possibly his long term replacement, if not a solid #2.  Renfrow could give us a solid few years as well. XL will probably improve with the TMac competition.  TMac is goofy, but on the field, he has done nothing but produce. Horn is sneaky fast, and I wonder if he would not have done better in college at a university that did not have Hunter.  He is a deep threat and was on a team with a bad OL, so his numbers were a bit low.  In fact, there are two WRs who signed UDFA contracts who will probably go to the PS and wait for a season.  We are in fine shape at WR, if everyone progresses.
