Brandon Hogan IR?

I don't understand how he saw the field last year and is on IR this year without doing anything

He missed all of practice this summer with a hamstring injury. About two weeks ago his injury was changed to a knee. The observer has speculated he reinjured his previously torn ACL

Thomas Davis has rehabbed three straight ACL tears in three straight offseasons yet Brandon Hogan can't rehab one ACL tear in 2+ years. fuging ridiculous.

Yeah he's too busy slappin hoes, rolling blunts and sippin syrup.

Didn't we draft Stewart with all his Achilles and toe issues?? That one worked out pretty well. Oh, and we also invested in Thomas Davis. Are you all picking specific things to bitch about, or is there a legitimate reason for bashing our organization's chief decision-maker?

Stewart played at a high level at Oregon on a bad wheel. He played through pain well and that was know

I'm not 100 but I thought Stewart had a toe injury when we drafted him. He had his surgery done by the Panthers doctor.

can someone confirm that there are two different IR's? One that can be brought off of during the season and of course the other where it is for the remainder of the season

There's two different designations / lists, PUP (Physically Unable to Perform) and IR (Injured Reserve). Guys on the PUP list (e.g. David Gettis) must sit out the first 6 games of the season after which the team has a three-week window to allow a player to begin practicing and then from the day the player begins practicing, there is an additional three-week window to decide whether to activate the player to the 53-man roster or place them on IR. Players put on IR are out for the entire season.

Thanks, for some reason I thought under the new cba that there was an alternate IR.

    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
    • Homerism aside, the more I see from Dan, the more impressed I am.  His player evaluation instincts. Last year his 2 premier FA signings, Hunt and Lewis COMPLETELY changed the line and I have a feeling his success in choosing blue chip guys will continue.  Look at the panthers’s rep for FA signings in the past. By and large, it’s been guys 1 year past their prime who had an injury and suckered our GM in to a crippling contract. We never get nice things. When was the last time this team signed 2 young blue chip studs  in the same offseason to contracts worthy of their impact? Ever?  Im telling y’all, players respect and trust Morgan.
