I Formation....

I miss it - there has always been a reason that college trick plays and options never worked for long in the NFL. Its great to have that as a wrinkle in your offense to throw off a D-line, but it should not be your staple formation.

The way we fake hand off on pass plays only allows the defense time to get closer to Cam.

that falls on Chud. we have ran the option more this year, than we did in all of last year. i dont understand why someone would think Cam struggles with playing under center when he did it plenty last year. you cannot run a read option with JPP on the outside, or run that same option read fake on passing downs when teams know you are passing. why leave JPP 1on1 with anybody?

Don't know why we can't line up this way, since we seem insistent to have Deangelo run inside the tackles anyway for the most part.

Agreed, it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to send DWill up the gut to get crushed and Tolbert to the edge. I mean WTF, DeAngelo is so fugging dangerous out in space and a guy that is 5'9" 245 lbs. like Tolbert should be able to bulldoze his way up the gut, yet our coaches do the exact opposite during the fugging game. Guess it really doesn't matter, the way our OLine was playing we could have had fugging Barry Sanders and it wouldn't have made a difference. I sure as hell hope the embarrasment I and ALOT of others are feeling is 10 fold to our players. They've gotta know that they were the laughing stock of the NFL last night. Pure gutlessness from our players and emotionless coaches who look like they couldn't coach a pop warner team = the disaster we all had to endure last night. They better get it together QUICK! Unfortunately, I dunno if this team has the heart to do that.

    • I'm really not stressing about upgrading from Bryce. I'm frustrated with our inability (or refusal) to recognize overall bad QB performance and failure to seriously address the issue. QB is the most impactful position on the field, and we're not only settling for what we've been given to this point, but we've rewarded it with a fully guaranteed 5th year extension for a player that's never played 2 NFL franchise QB quality games back to back in 3 seasons. I can't understand how that's ok from a coach's or GM's viewpoint. Successful franchises don't do things like this. It just doesn't make sense.  We do not have a top half of the league QB right now. Since we don't have that player, we should be looking for him. Pickett isn't it. Grier isn't it. Bryce hasn't proven he is yet. Until you have that sure fire franchise QB, you keep looking. You're not consistently making the playoffs, a deep run, or a SB appearance without one.  What's the worst that could happen? We end up with 2 potential number 1 QBs? How horrible.
    • Easy to understand Pickett, if this is anywhere close to on point. Canales wants to get as close to Bryce as he can- get the pace and timing in the throws as close a he can to Bryce. So the other players don’t have to adjust so much, to a new guy.       If Cam was the 1, he would look for a rocket arm.  But Bryce is the 1. Look for limited in the same way.  Low velocity, plenty of air under it, feels just like home when Picket comes in. And you have the guys on the second team not having such a radical adjustment (if they have to play) like with Dalton to Bryce.    Enter Grier. I guess we will collect those types.
    • Best part is if we draft him, we can also use him as our fourth and one QB sneaker
