Coach Chud Believes the 4th and 1 call was the right one

I dont get how it was a good call lol. Rolling out on the 1 yd line where the back of the endzone is an extra defender. Its a terrible call and thats why it failed

This is just same thing as last game where we punted and it was on the 1 yard line. We didnt know it would land on the 1 yard line. We didn't know Hartstock (who?) would be open... in fact he got open not by design but by thats what happened when you roll out and people trying to cover people

Run the ball in

Two of the 4 downs from within the 6 yard line were runs and the final one was a rollout where Newton had the option to run.

1 run was with Cam which is fine. Then we line up shotgun, audible into a single back formation with Dwill in the backfield. (Not a goal line power runner) Obvious loss of 3. Could we have made it any easier for the D to know what play we were going to run? Then a nice pass to Murphy. (I wish he would have had more awarness as to where the goal line was or atleast reached for it. Then of course the failed roll out with half a yard to go.

Play calls make no sense sorry. Personel on the field really didn't make much sense either. The evidence just keeps piling up that these coaches are retarded. Hell I am almost starting to think that Chud and Rivera are almost bigger problems than McDerp.

I have no issue with the call.

The Seahawks had shown on previous plays that they expected, and were prepared to deal with, a quarterback run. A better thrown pass on that play and we win.

Plenty of issues with the current offensive approach in general, but not that play call

Yet none of those were from inside the 1 yard line, where your receivers are all bunched in the end zone, making it that much harder to get open. We're built as a power running team and we're not doing it... not even trying it, which is what makes me wonder what's going on.

We are not built as a power running team. We aren't built as anything. There little to no chance of running up the gut with our line against their defensive line.

The TE got open, Cam blew the throw.

I'm not defending the coaching in it's entirety, I'm saying the final series failed because our players were outplayed in my opinion.

A good play call doesn't have the QB under heavy pressure in a must win situation.

it was a must-win situation regardless of the playcall; any playcall was going to be a heavy-pressure scenario due simply to the circumstances.

playcall was fine. guy got open. cam threw the pass in the dirt when it should've been a touchdown to hartsock.

chud is to blame for a lot of things, but not for this.

Yea, the power running team tag is a bit wishful thinking. Gross is undersized, Kalil is undersized, Hangartner is undersized, Silatolu is a rookie. Bell is the only o lineman we have that is 320lbs +. Without researching numbers I'd bet most of our yards are gained on the outside and not up the gut. Stewart is a power runner but he gets his yards on his own after contact. Not sure what we are but we are not a power running team today.

In a sense Chud and the coaches are to blame. IIRC Rivera and Chud said that Cam has issues with short finesse passes like screens and slants. I guess possibly due to footwork and such. So if the coaches know this is an issue for Cam, why make that playcall when the game is on the line?

    • I turned to the NFL Network and they are playing the Wildcard Game against the Rams I think we gained a lot of respect around the league we hung in there for a while into the 4th Quarter 🙂
    • Does anyone know for sure if the game tonite will be on HBO max?  That is where I watched the last one and only access I currently have- I am in SE NC and no broadcast stations carry the games.😖
    • take a  look around the league at other young Qb's such as Drake Maye , Jayden Daniels, Bo Nix , CJ Stroud  & Caleb Williams who at the time like Bryce Young they also were drafted by teams with a losing record .the only difference with these Qb's is after joining their teams with a losing record they led those same teams to a winning record in a very short period of time .it's simply what you call a game changer & or elite Qb's & then take a  look at  the other side of the coin you have Qb's such as Trey Lance, Zach Wilson, Mac Jones, Justin Fields  & Anthony Richardson also like Bryce Young all first round picks who instead of winning either did not play or led their teams to a losing record while playing  Bryce Young who has an overall record of 14-30 & wildly inconsistent & never in the history of the NFL has a Qb 5'10" or shorter had a successful carrer as Qb in the NFL  if anything history is telling you exactly what ?..just saying
