If Cam was half the leader that..

how old was jake when he started @ QB?

give cam some time. he's got leadership abilities, esp. natural ones that goes waaaayyyy beyond jake. it's just in the direction he leads them and the direction he takes himself. once he finds his confidence and believes in what we're doing and the team's ability to overcome we'll be seeing him and this team take off.

i don't think we'll have to wait long, tbh.

I will admit this but also understand its not like Newton can't become a leader in the NFL

Yeah, certain intangibles are missing and its a problem with a starting QB but the issues with the franchise are far greater than simply Cam

It would help if he had a staff and veterans that could give a sense of damn direction

uh, yeah? if most of the quarterbacks in the entire league were half the leader delhomme was their respective teams would probably win more.

the whole knock on delhomme was that he had the heart of a lion but wasn't overly athletic and didn't exactly have a cannon for an arm. yeah if you put his head on cam's body he'd be a monster. just like if you put bruce smith or reggie white's head on julius peppers' shoulders you'd have the greatest defensive player of all time by a long shot. it's rare you get both.

thing is those are qualities that cam can develop whereas jake will never be 6'5" and 245 with 8% body fat.

    • https://www.drafttek.com/NFL-Trade-Value-Chart.asp Going by this chart that won’t get it done, at all.  both of our 5th rounders are worth 56, total.    The 51st is valued at 390. Moving to 41 takes 100 points. In the second where we are, it is basically 10 points per slot. You can get in front of TB for 60 points. Baltimore at 45.  Which who would do that for 56 points? You are on a wing and a prayer.    To realistically have a good shot at these top guys, outside of Golday, it is gonna take at least 100 points, I am thinking.  And when they go, Golday’s market probably gets a lot hotter.  Just going by the rankings/valuations, I am thinking if you realistically want to assure you get your guy it will take trading back in the first. Which is why I have been saying to do that if we can.  For example 19 is valued at 875. 21 is 800. That, plus one of the 5ths gets you to 100 points which you theoretically could use to get to 41.    I think there are going to be several good options for us at 19, if we are good with taking what is left at 21-23 we can get a good player plus fund a trade up for one of these LBs which is what I am thinking makes sense.
    • Alabama money line is a big one.
    • I'm just letting everyone know he's on the list in the second tier, not that I think it gets there because Donovan wants the job.  UNC is waiting on Lloyd and Arizona's run to end, if that doesn't work out then Donovan is likely the new head coach.
