Bill Polian on Who Has a High Ceiling. RG3 or Cam

Recommended Posts

Yeah he did. It was an interview that they played on the drive yesterday, but was recorded from another station.

That's almost worse than when Skip Bayless said Vince Young is better than Cam at this point, because Cam didn't win rookie of the year or go to a pro bowl lol.

I enjoy watching III play but he is a QB on a team not named the Panthers so I don't watch often and will not care.

I will say this, however: with 3 serious concussions in college and 1 already in the NFL, the boy is on his way to the funny farm sooner rather than later. His career won't even be as long as Steve Young's was before concussions forced him to quit.

Let... It... Go...

Seriously. Some of you are going to wind up with erectile dysfunction fretting over what the media is saying.

I mean actually look at what some of them are saying! Jerry Richardson... a man who looked Super Bowl Champion & future HoFer Peyton Manning in the eye and basically called him an idiot (do I need to explain a pie chart to you son?) fired a man he counted as a friend because a 2nd year QB that he really doesn't have much invested in money wise blurted out "something has to change"!??!

Or how about "I've never heard Cam take responsibility for a loss." I've heard that a few times this week. If that doesn't make it clear that these guys only listen to sound bytes I don't know what would.

RGIII is having a great rookie season, it also isn't over yet. I still question his durability just like I question Cam's footwork. They both have high ceilings, neither has reached their full potential.

Leave the instant gratification to Mickey Ds & porn.

RG3 is legit... the young man can play QB.

But you have to take into consideration he's playing for a much better/proven HC in a system basically designed for him. And I don't mean this year. Shanahan's system is perfect for RG3. Sure they've made a few wrinkles to optimize his running ability, but that system was waiting for a player like Griffin to come along. Also, Alfred Morris has 138 attempts for 658 yards through 7 games. He's on pace for 315 attempts for 1504 yds. That'll help anybody's passing game.

I've watched some redskins game and to me it seems like they throw more formations, options, and plays designs at RG III than our team does Cam. The redskins offense is not as vanilla as ours. I would like to see our coaching staff throw multiple options at Cam and let him sink or swim.

I'm tired of this message boards feelings being hurt by the criticism of our QB. If he is as good as we believe he is, ultimately everything will take care of itself.

Anyone who is paying attention to the NFL will easily agree RG3 is playing significantly better than Cam. Get over it.

i'm watching washington's game against the giants right now.

first of all, the playcalling is substantially less idiotic than what we see every week from chud. they run a lot of one read bang-bang stuff with short routes and an emphasis on getting the ball out as fast as possible. the whole snap-whatever playaction they're running if any-ball out process is taking two or three seconds tops. most of their plays are run out of the shotgun or pistol formation but there's barely any ridiculous zone read bullshit going on so even if it's a handoff the back is off and running very quickly. it's doing a great job of calming the giants' pass rush.

the one vertical play that they've attempted so far that i've noticed (still in the first half) broke down and griffin had to scramble. he seems to get fidgety in the pocket on long-developing plays or if his first option is covered. that might be by design though as i'm not really seeing griffin scanning the field as he drops back.

Stop watching ESPN

/thread.

This. Look at every piece of coverage they've had over the previous two weeks. None of it is an accurate portrayal of what is going on. Cam's press conferences have improved dramatically over the course of the season, but ESPN drones don't do their research. I don't waste my time with it anymore.
