Richardson's Health Linked To Hurney's Mid-Season Firing

Per the following quote by Pro Football Weekly's anonymous sources, there is a sense of urgency to get on track because J-Rich knows that he doesn't have forever.

The following quotes are from NFL scouts, coaches and front-office personnel, speaking on the

condition of anonymity:

“(Jerry) Richardson knows he is on borrowed time with his second heart and there is that urgency now that you see from older owners. That is why the decision (to fire GM Marty Hurney during the bye week) came when it did. The other part is — Marty is a standup guy. He takes responsibility for mistakes. He hired Ron Rivera and picked the players. If it’s any combination of players or coaches, it’s on the GM, and Marty acknowledged that."

I wonder what the implications will be in reference to hiring a GM, and possibly a new coach.

And this why JR is going outside the franchise to get help to look for a good GM. So that GM can hire us a good HC that can really help us win. The best guy for this job I'm seeing right now that is on the top of the list of other teams is Chip Kelly the HC of Oregon Ducks. He seems to be a very good HC and has his team winning every game. Plus I want a HC that is emotional and will get the job done. So long as Chip Kelly leaves the college Offense and defense schemes there and use Pro schemes. We already know college schemes don't work in the NFL.

    • Don't have to be miss cleo. His weakness are length, athleticism, creating his own shot, defense, finishing at the rim,  Strengths - shooting and IQ.   Likely won't work as non athletic shooters don't typically work.

    • I live in Indiana and took a trip that weekend to watch my two friend's teams play (Chiefs and Vikings) IN Minnesota when they were playing at a college field, I think TCF? Anyways, our plan was to watch the game (noon game) then do some shopping at the Mall of America, I wasn't planning on watching the Panthers play Seattle since I was out sight seeing and walking around after the noon game had ended. By the time we were walking back into the Mall the Panthers were down by 2 scores in the 4th or going into the 4th and we were all thirsty from walking around for 2.5 hours after the Vikings game so we decided to postpone shopping until after we ate. We found this nice little sports bar inside the mall that had the game on. Man, I'm so glad we skipped shopping because that was probably the most excited I've been in some time for a win. Beating Seattle in 2015 felt like the "monkey off the back" sort of feeling and I knew we had finally arrived as a team. The entire bar erupted when Cam hit Olsen for that walk off TD. Literally one of the greatest moments of my life. My friend wasn't so happy though lol, by the time the Panthers game ended ALL of the stores inside the mall had closed and he wasn't able to get any souvenirs. It was his first time watching a Vikings game live and making a trip like that so he was legit upset lol. I on the other hand couldn't have been happier.
