I dont remember how many timeouts Carolina had left, but if Cam would've taken a Sack it would have ran the clock down to under 15 seconds and put us out of field goal range (didnt matter at the time because RR wasnt going to kick a field goal).

If this was in the middle of the first quarter then I would agree, Cam should take a sack, but in a situation like this, quarterbacks are coached specically NOT to take a sack.

So it was better to risk a turnover?

yeah situations like this if you can't throw it away, you take the sack

but but but he holds on to the ball to long ! can't win either way round these parts sometimes.

not saying I disagree with you just wanted to throw that in there (maybe it will not get intercepted)

both of cam's INTs are solidly on the receivers he was throwing to.

cam was right in thinking that olsen could have made that catch. had no reason to think that olsen would be dogging it that play.

cam was right in throwing it to smitty who could have at least fought for the ball. he didn't know that smith was going to be slipping en route.

neither were great throws, but the intended receiver could have made it happen and had many times in the past. those were two very costly flukes from olsen and smith.
