My Sunday schedule just got a bit more flexible...

bunch of fairweathers

Call it what you like, not going to change anybody's mind.

Over the years Ive put a lot behind the Panthers on my priorities list. From household chores to my dads 60th birthday a lot of things have taken a back seat to the Panthers.

No more

Ill still watch most of every game but it will be when I want to and it will be from the DVR.

Not pissing away another day. If that fits your definition of "fairweather" then so be it.

And for that matter this is the last time Ill buy the Sunday ticket/red zone/ or NFLN if I have to pay more for it.

Yeah I had great tix to the game yesterday. Sold them friday for a nice markup and got a bunch of my kids christmas shopping done saturday. Best decision I made all week.

I'll still watch, but thanks to DVR it'll be when it's convenient for me and if they do poo the bed I'll work that fast forward button hard

I will continue to watch. I spent $150 on SundayTicket (called them & asked do I really need to threaten to cancel or can you just disount it? done, 1/2 price) and I dont like wasting money, already wasted or not. I watch until the end, or at least stand in front of the TV drunk & try to focus....

more to life than panthers football.

Since I've started watching football, this is the first time when I've ever been able to see that. Panthers football has always been priority 1 on Sunday. Now it's not only not priority 1, but it's rapidly tumbling out of the top 5. I really have better things to do than watch a bad football team play bad football.

Between that, and the fact that for the first time since 2008 (when I first joined this board) the respondents aren't 50% or more calling us fairweather fans, telling us they don't need us bandwagoners, telling us to get lost, advising us where we should not let the door hit us, this is a very depressing thread. Except for 1 person, it sounds like everyone else, including some folks I have known to be die hards these past few years, are fed up as well.

The Panthers are like the Republican Party. They relied on the base for so long to just squeak by. But now they're losing the base. And I fear much like the Republican Party, it will be lost to California.

I hope no one in this thread ever criticizes the fans in the stands for not being loud enough or staying long enough. I hope you never criticize PSL owners for selling their tickets to opposing fans. I hope you never criticize anyone for not being a "good enough" fan ever again. I'm missing the first season of Panthers games I've ever missed (due to health reasons), and it's killing me not to be there ... and yes, it's killing me to be having the kind of season we're having.

To be clear ... I'm not criticizing you for finding better things to do than to watch the Panthers. Just watch who you criticize from now on. (Also not saying any of you have or will do any of the things above ... just saying.)

I will still watch them. I watched every game on the 2010 team and most of the 2001 team. Issues are fixable but nothing wrong with taking care of your other priorities on Sunday. Last week. I was in Harrisburg playing 18 for the first time. Even though sore, I had a blast lol. And yeh I sucked lol. But I kept up with the game on my phone. I will watch all te remaining games, they are still my favorite team in all of sports.

Most of the fans in the stadium feel the same as the vast majority of posters here. Every turnover, every sack, every mistake lacked the audible moan coming from the seats. The fans in the seats are no longer are no longer surprised, upset or angry about anything- they're numb to it all.

It's funny, 4 of us sat in our seats and just looked at each other as if to say, "Oh well..." and went on with our conversations.

Yeah, I'm done. My PSLs are all but sold, the prospective/new owner has the remaining games for this year at an extremely discounted price and we settled on a price that only cost me about $3k for the pair.

It was a pretty good time for some of the 18 seasons we endured and I'll always have great memories of the '96, 2003 and 2005 runs... but I won't be around when the ticket prices get jacked up next year after another 2-14 season.
