That's a dumb question. poo Jim harbaugh made a scrub like Alex Smith look good. You think RG3 would look this good with Dave wandstadt (sp?) as his coach?

Folks always want to say that in the NFL coaching means so much more than any other sport. Or say some crap like football is the ultimate team sport. Then at the same time will say that it's all about the QB like the coach, system and other 21 teammates don't matter.

I can't take it with these fools in the media.

They celebrate Chud like he is a genius, when the read option offense is the major reason why Cam regressed this year. Unbelievable. Why don't these talking heads just sit down, watch Cam's rookie year, compare it to this one, and tell it like it is.

John Gruden was talking all night long about how our offense was designed to help Cam out. Like he couldn't adjust to the NFL unless they ran some plays he ran in college. That is just lazy. Let's forget his rookie season, where he ran a pro set offense, and threw for over 4,000 yards. The only rookie to do so. Man, I'm about sick of all these lies.

Last year Newton and the offense was at its best when they were using the option and everyone loved it. Everyone loved Chud, everything was rosie. Now that they can't execute and defenses aren't fooled by it the revisionist history has begun.

With good OL play.....and a healthy option RB. It is deadly. 2011 and Washington prove it.

This year we have bad OL play, a gimpy Stewart and a RB who stinks at it.

Washington actually runs their read options out of the pistol formation. This allows their runner to get a gust of speed going toward the o-line, much the way a regular NFL snap would have it. The way we do it, Cam and the runner are bumping into each other. This actually takes away some of the vision of our runner, and he is not able to adjust well when the ball is in his hands. (Unless the defense is completely fooled)

The read option, running it the way we run it out of the shotgun, kills an NFL offense.

Because last year it was used 1 or 2 times a game. When it's every play, and ain't surprising anyone, it's easy to defend. Common sense. It's less a problem with execution and more a problem with predictability.

Very true. And, I will bet that they will have much less success with it next year.

Defensive players and coaches are too good and too fast for it to work long term. They adapt to what you are doing too quickly. This is the same dynamic that you saw when Miami ran the Wildcat. they had a ton of success.....until teams had sufficient tape on it and began preparing for it. Then, the success fell off a cliff.

RG3 seems to run his mouth a little too much....

Where is Thomas Davis when you need him to legally power bomb this punk on the sideline like he did in Washington.

      Another layer to that is Ive seen Seattle has been in the market for CB help this off-season.   Michael had a higher PFF grade than Horn who got 15 games this season. He wants to be here too, that's a huge bonus for any 5 win team that had awful pass rush.  The 7th rounder Michael Barrett didn't last long on Seattle, he was cut before the season I think and ended up on browns PS. He's already been on 5.......5 teams within one year.......

      You have gave the board some recent gold via posting. Heres my poor attempt at the truthful play-by-play of the time during post- I pulled out the old laptop to do my shitposting and check on websites. Open the huddle and see this new thread. Open thread and read CRAs post, {inner thinking, oooOOooo this is my lane and I got this}. Make sure not to scroll even to the 2nd post. 23% of current neurons still firing start up and two names appear- Captain and Josh....... about another 43 seconds past "O GOD" it's July 4th weekend and I got medicine to pick up. (If the laptop didn't give away my aging, the meds should...) I need to split, think long panther careers and the hint-  Ryan Kalil was a late 2nd and Pro bowls(even all-pros too) he's got to be OLman and Mikie Minter is among the all-time Panthers career leaders. Drop my post. Scramble to get keys, wallet, and phone. Check my phone- its 17% battery.....fug I now have to raw dog the pickup line and put the phone on charge.... Flip flops, sweat ringed filled hat, and shades acquired. Get in my pos rav4 and think about not running the A/C. Pull out the drive way and reach the 1st stop light, A/C is wide open. I check my shirt to see if there's any new stains on my house shirt, bush off the Bojangles salt that I see.... Neurons re-fire and focus on the comments CRA made that no one would get this....... Dang IT, that means it isn't Ryan Kalil or Mike Minter! CVS is close, but I know its impossible I get back withing 10 minutes to change my post and my phone is on the charger. {Think you monkey, at one point you were a draft nerd}. Reach the CVS line, by some grace its not 5 cars deep during 5 o'clock traffic hell. Im second in line after the car in front of me both turn in, they have to go back and forth to line up while Im a pro for that geometry. Neurons finally reach peak performance as Ive re-thought draft classes. Think obscure and unknown 7th rounders with long careers. Some Sunday/Monday night member berry fell out of my Melon, Will montgomery during the players intros for washington. I thought he out of the league and was shocked to see him still playing around the 2015 years. I do a goggle background check and that refreshed memory. Pick up the meds and enjoy the sweet smelling cool CVS air. Driving back and check in on one of the local bums at the big stop light, wow he's got a new fancy rug. Think about all the old food I got and need to start giving it away and rethink it. Reach home and post a follow up and I know Minter is wrong too, I check the draft history and see Robert Mcclain. Too late, but that would have been my guess....open CRAs link and get "upset" at the DBs name.
