I'd have no problem with it honestly. I'd rather restructure a couple guys rather than trade them, but if we could field that roster above I'd be pretty content.

Trading D-Will and Beason does not SAVE cap money. They are both substantial cap HITS. That alone makes this offseason plan ridiculous....

Positive, OP isn't counting the signing bonus at all in his figures. D-Wills bonus on his five year deal was 16 million so 3.2 per year. Multiply that by the three years left of bonus hits and you get a 9.6 cap hit on the bonus if you cut/trade him next year. Subtract his contract (4.75) and you get a final cap hit of 4.85 million. What people don't get is the team you trade him to doesn't take the signing bonus, that's your problem....

Beason's hit is even worse at just over 8 million. We'll move one, but won't be able to move both. Signing bonus prorates if you restructure to, so that's not really an option for the other. Outside chance you could do it For D-Will, but not very likely....

If the best you could get out of those 4 players is a 4th, a 5th, and two 6ths, you're doing it wrong.

You don't trade proven guys with a few solid years left in them for draft picks that have a better statistical chance at being out of the league in 2 years than they do of even being a decent backup.

I don't get how we can trade Beason for a 4th rounder and still start Beason at OLB. Hurney magic?
