What the Colts did that I hope the Panthers mirror.

Whatever you feelings About Luck and the Colts, the simple fact is that the team went from 2 wins to 11 in one season.

Was it Great coaching? ..Did luck gross people out with his sloth face so they didnt want to sack him with all that slobber in his neck beard? Is Luck the second coming?

To me, one of the key things that facilitad this sussess is a total focus from the owner: Clean House: Polian out! Manning out(injury risk, age, money)! Dallas Clark(injuries and money) out!

During the draft they got Luck but also got a TE Colby Fleener, playmaking WR TY Hilton, LT Anthony Costanzo. A great foundation for a young QB. Retaining Reggie Wayne also a key for the offense.

Carolina to their credit did trade for Greg Olsen, signed Jeremy Shockey, extended Steve Smith.

However they never aquired another gamebreaking WR or help solidify the Oline. They actually allowed it to get more inexperienced and back filled it with UFAs and average vets.

Season 2 had no more added weapons on offense: drafting a young Div 3 Silatolu over a SEC battle tested LT Cordy Glenn was questionable. Allowing Shockey to go unsigned with nothing to replace him with was a poor decision as well. It seemed like Shockey was always savvy sitting in open areas in the zone and brought a toughness to the offense.

Hurney made it seem like we traded for 2007 Randy Moss with the Louis Murphy signing but his play has been avg on his best day.

This next draft is geared to solidify weapons and solidifying the OLine. DT is a need but going top 10 in defense this season with the Edwards does prove that unless there is a Ngata type(Star will not be avail at 15) we could plug it with vets there while fixing the offensive side which will regress quicker than we think.

Whoever the GM is I hope the Colts focus to get the future all the weapons will be duplicated here in Carolina.. And Newton agrees.

I'm really starting to like the idea of Warmack in the 1st. I know #14 is high for an OG, but Warmack has the ability to be an elite NFL OG and we badly need a RG. The Colts' success with Manning began with realizing they had their franchise QB in place and committing to providing that QB with everything he needed to succeed. They got Marvin Harrison, Reggie Wayne, Jeff Saturday, Dallas Clark, and on and on. They built around Peyton Manning. We need to build around Cam Newton.

The Panthers have the Dan Gilbert syndrome. We got Cam Newton, why do I need to spend any more money up grading key positions? I mean, Cam is the show!

TY Hilton's emergence with Avery as a formidable option really helped Luck out beyond Wayne. Hilton I think was one of the biggest reasons Luck did what he did.

There's just so many WRs that can help us imo in this upcoming draft I just don't want to see us pass up on them

My personal favs are Allen, DeAndre Hopkins, T-Will, Quinton Patton, & Cobi Hamilton

Patterson isn't going at 14. Nor should he He's a Stephen Hill type prospect who may creep in at the bottom of the first. Hopkins stock is going to skyrocket and wont be there when we pick in the second. May not be there when we pick in the first, honestly, depending on who Miami likes better between Allen and Hopkins. This is a terrible WR class.

I personally see this as a weak safety class and would hope to spend the biggest chunk of what little we have on a FA Safety.

This is one of the best Safety classes ever. Where ever you're getting this stuff from, call someone to come block it on your browser.

You can get one of the top 2 receivers at 14 (Allen and Patterson).Three OL will already be off the board, leaving the next level guys. I prefer Allen and Aboushi/Warford/Thomas over Warmack and Hunter/Woods. At this point I see Hopkins and TWill late 1 early 2.

Yes. Allen please.

    • Jalen Carter came into camp out of shape too. That was part of the reason he dropped considering he was thought of as the better defensive player pre-draft activities. It’s not a good sign when you don’t look great but it’s definitely premature.
    • We won 5 with the worst defense in the history of defenses.  I think free agency and our draft puts us over 6.5.
    • Leaning towards just ordering this tonight, but now I have no idea on size. Has anyone bought a bunch of jerseys in the last few years and can convey how the Game vs Limited vs Reebok versions all fit? These are both Mediums... The white one here is a Reebok one from 2010, and was when they had the "+2 length" on the tag and it was the version with the stitched numbers instead of iron on... the blue one is from 2022 and is the F.U.S.E Limited version also with stitched stuff, not the "game jersey" with the ironed on numbers/letters that they have the T-Mac jerseys in. The old one fits me fine, the blue one was always a tad snug on me, particularly in the shoulders I'm leaning going with a Large based on the CMC, but for all I know, that is made with a tighter cut due to the higher "limited" level and the "game" ones they have for T-Mac are cut more like a T-Shirt and thus will fit more like the old white one I have here, not sure. (and yes, I already tried going to a sporting goods store here to hopefully try on a Lions jersey to see, but they don't have any right now)
