Jon Gruden wanted Panthers job with total control

Recommended Posts

Sorry Mr Scot, you lost me after these 3 words.

Clausen's skill set is panicking at the first sign of pressure and throwing the ball to Jackie Miles on the sideline.

i think that the thinking behind that is that a WCO is about the only system that clausen would be able to fit because he doesn't really have the arm strength to do anything that requires deep passes.

and since the WCO requires the QB to get the ball out quickly and limits decision making he might be ok there as well.

the only thing is that the WCO needs a QB who can scramble some and i don't think that clausen's "scared squirrel" style of scrambling is what they are hoping for.

Said it once, I will say it again.

Gruden took Dungy's perennial playoff team to the cellar in 2 years.

Catch a clue people

Dungy's "perennial playoff team" was one and done the two years before he was fired.

From 1996-2001 Dungy led teams had exactly 2 Playoff wins in Tampa Bay.

Gruden took the Bucs where Dungy was incapable of taking them.

Dungy had 4 one and dones in Indy, bad trend.

Dungy has won a superbowl, so this "Couldn't get it done" stuff is a BS.

Gruden did help the offense when he took over and deserves that title, but then that team regressed way further than any team ever did under Dungy. I think Dungy was a better coach, by miles.

Gruden won with Brad Johnson, Peyton won with Dungy. (it's also not hard to beat Rex Grossman)
