So it's clear that Gettleman is going to have his hands full this off season. He's going to have to make very difficult personnel decisions.

There's some players that are becoming free agents. Some of these players are worth retaining. Here's a list.

Ben Hartstock

Captain Munnerlyn

Sherrod Martin

Antwan Applewhite

Louis Murphy, WR

Gary Barnidge, TE

Jason Phillips (RFA)

Andre Neblett (RFA)

Derek Anderson

Mike Pollak

Nate Ness

Jordan Senn

The current cap situation isn't looking that great. (136 million) I know there's the old 'restructuring' thing, but we don't know how other players will react to that.

Out of the list there are some players that need to be retained, I.E., Dwan Edwards, Captiain Munny, Martin (Maybe).

There theres some that played well and have 'potential' or play a part in our ST. Barnidge, Phillips, Senn.

I don't believe we'll have enough cash to retain some of these guys. Dwan will more than likely want a good deal, he deserves it to be honest. Captain probably as well.

Out of that list I see Applewhite, Anderson, Pollak, Ness, Martin walking.

I believe we will only be able to retain either Edwards or Captain. Which would you choose? I'd say Edwards. He's key to that line. If he leaves, I wouldn't feel that great about the line this coming year. Ron Edwards is staying since he's under contract. but Dwan could leave and in my opinion he's more important that Captain.

Which players would be imperative to keep?

Edwards and Phillips for sure. Ness we should be able to sign cheap. Munny if we can, the rest can walk. Certainly Dwan is the main guy.

Keep Captain...he is a good in the slot and made some huge plays for us this season. We must also retain Dwan, Philips, and Senn.

I'm anxious to see how Gettleman goes about building the depth on this roster. I suspect a lot of overturn and roster moves to better the bottom half of our roster.

Spotrac had listed Dwan Edwards as having a 2 year deal, but they've now crossed out 2013. So if he's a FA and coming off a career year, it might not be a no-brainer that he's coming back.

I'd bring Capt and Dwan back at the right price. The rest are JAG's.

Captain really seems like he's trying and wants to be on this team, so why not?

Applewhite is a solid pass rusher, keep him around.

Phillips is nice to have around.

If we don't retain Captain and end up cutting Gamble, we're going to be very, very thin at CB. I'm not sure I'd be comfortable with a CB corps of Norman/Thomas/Dockery :|

The cap is bad enough all of them might be replaced by draft picks and UDFAs.

This is where Gettleman and staff earn their pay.

with gettleman's eye, i can see that happening with a lot of guys on that list.

Maybe Barnidge unless we get a TE in the draft that would be able to do at least as well immediately (shouldn't be too hard, I do like Barny but if they aren't gonna utilize him he's wasting space)

We might have to spend a bit to keep Dwan, but we should

That's my list of guys to retain.
