Don't cut: DeAngelo Williams

The Panthers have 47 running backs, and they have work to do with the passing game, which is why they also have a new GM. But they should at least look to restructure the deal of the back who was easily the best one on the roster in 2012. Cutting Williams saves about $4.8M against the 2013 cap, but Jonathan Stewart and Mike Tolbert were far less efficient.

I ve seen tons of arguements for why we should cut him. But very few saying why we should keep him... what say you

When this team will be a legit title contender in a few years, Deangelo isn't going to be the RB of that team, it will be Stewart

So just get rid of Deangelo now, save the money, use it where it's needed more than RB, and let Stewart grow along with Cam and the rest of the offense

Stewart cant even stay on the field, why should we put all our chips in him?

Before this season he missed two games in his entire career

Then he had both a high ankle and regular ankle sprain on the same play that essentially finished his season due to our record, I'm sure he would have been able to play had we been in the playoff hunt.

Put the chips on the OL and it makes less difference who you have back there--Tauren Poole could average 3.5 yards a game like DW did. Most RBs hit the wall at 30, and DW is no different. If it were up to me, I would rarely sign a RB to a second contract. There are too many decent backs out there, while good OL are hard to find.

(As for the ever so humorous attempt to derail this thread by a moderator, why are some of the moderators the biggest pricks on this forum? Sorry in advance to all the kids out there trying to discuss and learn about the Panthers. There are some unbalanced dweebs who were not breast fed that feel a need to measure their self worth by throwing zingers at others to get pie from other pricks. In person, I doubt they are like that at all because their employers, probably all a part of the dynamic fast food industry, do not have dental plans for part timers working their way through CPCC's GED program.)

I'm all for deangelo staying. We just need to give him more carries. I hope this year we lean more on the run game and use play action more. I honestly believe that if we run deangelo right, he will have a 1,000 yard year. He is nowhere near being finished. About the cap? That's not my job to worry about it. I'll leave that up to the powers that be.

      We agree here dawg. I'd love for Bryce to succeed as would all huddlers. I have not seen a single huddler hate Bryce for anything other than his play on the field / potential / skillset. He hasn't gotten any of the irrational hate having nothing to do with football that Cam got. And yeah I understood going into this season with Bryce again as there weren't a ton of options, but man we missed the fuging mark on upgrading at backup QB with someone who could actually push Bryce. Bryce had zero pressure on him with a 100% washed up Dalton being the only other NFL caliber QB in the system. That absolutely needs to change this offseason. Ideally with an actual starter upgrade but that seems extremely unlikely due to not having many FA options and a bad draft. But at the very least with someone like you mentioned, young/upside and/or day 3 pick in the draft.   Another note, we have a top paid and top performing OL, great young talent at WR incl. likely OROY, great RB group, average all around TE group, offensive coach with creativity in the system and good play designs (poor situational playcalling but still I put out current offensive coaching staff over Shula who held Cam back for instance). Not the absolute best situation for a QB to be in, but still a very good situation around him. And yet we have a bottom 8 offense (6th lowest points scored). Imagine taking a victory lap for a QB leading his team to the 6th lowest points scored in the league and the 22nd highest passer rating (despite being asked to do less than many other QBs; i.e. Bo Nix who isn't great either and has a slightly lower passer rating but Sean Payton actually lets him try to throw the ball deep and has him throw significantly more than Bryce). Crazy

      similar to Atlanta and the NHL.  Atlanta has lost two NHL teams (and lost a minor leaguer).  Now there's another coalition pulling together another proposal for Atlanta to get an NHL expansion. While I'd like hockey to be back in Atlanta 'cause hockey is fun, I am skeptical that it'll happen based on previous teams' experience here alternatively: similar to Atlanta hosting a Major Tennis Tournament in advance of the US Open every mid/late summer.  Aside from the fact that Atlanta is said to be the country's largest Tennis playing city (with both USTA and ALTA, along with a number of side leagues) - playing tennis outdoors in Atlanta summer is miserable *and* they had difficulty attracting players... ticket sales were not good. So the Atlanta Open closed after 14 years.  They just couldn't make it happen, even if for all intents it appears to be massive tennis interest in the surrounding area.

      So I saw where Luke was doing that show parallel to the game. Whatever it was, statcast something something, knew it would be a good watch. I don’t get ESPN any more but that would be one of the about few things I would watch outside of games.     He doesn’t fool around on the radio broadcast.
