he was brought in to develop players- not win games..

well guess what- player development has gone down since he got here..

players have checked out totally

losses by 30-40 points with 0% hustle and no effort have shown how the players think

fire Dunlap- let Stephen Silas coach the rest of the year and move on from this horrid season

It's not completely what they think. It's that they've been ran into the ground by Dunnlap's practices. It was a real worry before the season. Dunlap's manage to run biz into the ground and considering how in shape he is. It's saying something and its not good.

I know it's rough, hell I have been to what seems like 10 Cats games this year and nearly all of them have been losses (I think we won one), but we knew coming into this year that this was going to be a struggle, however the struggle will turn around next year with the draft and our cap room.

This is our last year of patience.

In my humble opinion, I think Dunlap will be fired after this season and replaced with McMillan or Sloan (I think MJ told them to hold out for the job). The reasoning is clear... MJ knew we weren't going to be competitive this year, so why pay a coach a bunch of money for a job that he won't be able to do... Instead hire a coach that is a good teacher/mentor to young guys that can teach them the fundamentals before we get a "real" coach in here that understands NBA basketball.

Dunlap isn't a terrible coach by any means, but he also isn't the coach to lead this franchise in the future. Everyone knew when he came aboard that it would be as a teacher essentially. We have a lot of young players, and I would say for the most part Dunlap has done a good job with them. My main gripe as far as his player development is MKG not getting enough minutes or playing during crucial times. The Bobcats are still way better than last year, as last year we were getting blown out every game and this year we have been very competitive in most games. There is no reason to be beaten like a drum against the Kings, though... that was just sad... same for Utah without 3 starters (namely their 2 best players -- Jefferson and Millsap). Dunlap definitely has good basketball knowledge and is a good teacher, but he is a pretty terrible strategist, as well as a pretty meh x's and o's guy. He knows the game well, but he just isn't an NBA caliber HC. We'll keep him another year imo, but it will be the last year is my guess.

That sir is false. I watch their practices. They don't practice any harder than what they did under any previous coach or harder than what any other coach in the NBA would do. He may has worked them to death mentally. NOT physically. He isn't retarded.

Most coaches don't run 4-5 hour long practices, which has been reported by the media and beat reporters. Normal NBA practice run 2 hours, Dunlap is in the 3 hour range with some going 4 hours. Now take into account his practices run players hard both mentally and physically. Add that up over a season and thats running a team into the ground.

      fuging Christ dude this isnt hard.  Like at all.  I get you simping for this poo team is your thing but sometimes you have to look at reality.   Even removing his bum knee from the equation, none of this made sense.  He is 31.  He has been paid handsomely for his service here.  He was currently under contract for this season.  Why in the holy fug did anything have to be done 2 weeks before the season started.   The people for this move, in this thread are saying A) He deserved it (this is the nfl it doesnt work like that  B) It frees up cap space (then why in the fug didnt we do this in Feb or C) You logic (We are getting a deal at 53 million guaranteed for the next 3 years.   You realize with this deal we cannot cut or trade his ass for 3 years.  You understand this right?   So in my opinion we should have let this ride into the offseason and go from there, what he is going to threaten to walk, big fuging deal he would be 32 on a chronically bad knee, what other moronic franchise is going to give him 40 million up front?  It wasnt going to happen.   And you are acting like its impossible to replace a 32 year old RT with a bum knee.  Just go and draft someone, move Icky to RT.  There are tons of options instead of extending this dude 2 weeks before the fuging season.  The truth is Morgan and the shitheads in the FO fell for this dudes crying act and got all sentimental and shelled out another ext.  We are a poverty ass franchise that doesnt act professionally

      5 Im glad football is back but after the embarrassment that was the browns pre season game where our starting D made Sanders look like a serviceable NFL QB, I lost hope again for a successful Panthers campaign this year.  I do hope I’m wrong!
