So naturally u think of the worst panther to ever start 8 games as being wharton? It doesnt make any sense at all. I get pissed off when people respond to a topic in ignorance.

Man, if opinions get you this rustled, how have you not suffered an aneurysm on the huddle.

The thirst for delhomme is real in here.. You guys need some prozac or xanax bad haha so pathetic. If you think Delhomme was a GOOD qb then you have mental health issues that need to be addressed immediately.

only person with need of a mental health check in this thread is you.

Correction you and oldman

I don't know what drives people to make dick comments on other peoples opinions but whatever makes you feel tough.

You must not have watched him when he was switched to left tackle when gross was injured.

Dude got run over every play.

im with Xclown on this, Wharton outside of Gross is the best Oline player we have ever had, I don't care what you think this isn't even up for discussion. You've just outed yourself as knowing NOTHING about football. if you don't like the fact that we are calling you out on it then tough poo.

sometimes it's better to be quit and thought an idiot then to open your mouth and remove all doubt. And guess what, you opened your mouth....

I started watching the Panthers in 2000. The worst Panther to start I've had the displeasure of seeing is easily Jimmy Clausen. 2010 was just bad...the worst football I've ever seen and it was that way because of the one ya'll call Pickles. I hate working at my current job, but if anybody at my job needed a shift picked up on football sundays, I always took it because I had no interest in watching a Clausen led team play. Most games were over after the 1st quarter. You knew once the other team scored, the lead was already too big and we were not coming back.

Chris Terry was a second-round pick at OT who was so bad, a rookie Julius Peppers sprinted right by him for sacks IN PEPPERS' FIRST CAMP PRACTICE. He wasn't the only one. But again, Clausen was better than Hambrick or Morabito.

People only look at QBs, RBs and WRs and think they see it all. You've got to look at LBs and how they contributed to that 1-15 record, or how no pass rush hurt in the late 90's.

And if you are honest to god arguing that he is worse than Clausen or Weinke, you haven't been watching Panther football very long or need to lay off the crack pipe.

Just more proof here.

Jimmy is the worst ever dating back to '95.

DeShaun Foster the worst player? No

5 years on the team = less than 3 minutes of highlights (even in slow motion)

And actually under two minutes. the last minute+ were his 2003/2004 playoff touchdowns repeated and slowed down.

Do we have a lowlights clip of his redzone fumbles?

Funny part about David Carr was fans were screaming that season for us to bench Delhomme and start Carr because jake looked bad in the preseason in a few games.

Jake goes off to start the season 8-1 TD-Int I think it was only Brady was better at 9-1 or 10 -1 over the first 3 games of the season before his elbow popped. And then Carr comes in and we see how good he really was making all the Jake Haters look stupid.

yeah it seems insane now but truth is carr was considered one of the top acquisitions in free agency that year. all through camp and the preseason there was a dedicated faction on this board who thought he would land the starting job in addition to the media working overitme to promote the notion of a qb controversy.

i remember talking to a guy at work who was a hardcore delhomme hater after the first falcons game about it. he was adamant that carr "made less mistakes" than jake when he had only attempted 4 passes in relief after delhomme had passed for 2 TDs and almost 200 yards with no turnovers after 3 quarters.

    • As far as elite/elevate talent QB’s It’s Allen Mahomes Jackson and Burrow that’s it.  Then we have tiers and those can be debated all day Dak is a good QB but I know this board would want him out of Charlotte if he was the QB here. 2 playoff wins in 10 years. Justin Herbert no playoff wins. Threw 4 interceptions in last years playoff game. 23 TD passes last year. 20 the year below and 25 the year before that. This board loves stats without context and these stats aren’t saying they’re much above complimentary  Kyler Murray isn’t good. I’m not sure how he made this list.  Caleb Williams, Trevor Lawrence both benefiting from some real good offensive coaches right now. They’re both complimentary pieces until proven otherwise  I like Jordan Love. Always have. I wanted to draft him but he isn’t a superstar.  CJ Stroud hasn’t been much better than Bryce after his rookie season. After that Bears game year 2 his numbers very similar to Bryce I will say I think Drake Maye is well on his way to becoming the next top tier QB if I had to pick one from this entire list. I’d also say Baker Mayfield is a damn good QB and I’d take him over most of those guys not in the elite category  Now if you want to debate tools and which QB’s possess tools to put them in higher tiers that’s a completely different discussion. Most QB’s on your main list all have those physical tools that will keep you thinking he’ll become the next top tier QB. They’ll sprinkle in a “wow” play or two a game. Bryce will never look that way. Young’s game at its peak will physically always look different and I think that’s where most people struggle when it comes to seeing how Young’s can be successful in the league  All QB’s need a team around them. I think the Bills are failing Josh Allen much like the Panthers did Cam. Beane and McDermott using same blueprint with Bills team. Josh Allen hasn’t had much in terms of WR’s and it’s ultimately costing them when it matters the most
