Awesome video. Smith is a legend. In before CRA hate.

lol...only on the huddle can homerism reach such epic levels that a Smith fan is deemed a hater.

Definitely the greatest on field player to date...

Nice finish with one of the greatest plays in Panther history. Many don't believe he is HOF material. I believe he will get alot of consideration especially if he can nail down a couple more 1000 yd receiving years.

One of the things they look at is not only numbers but how he changed the game and how teams planned and schemed to stop him. Smitty was one of the first to make the quick pass a weapon. (official play name avoids me)

We all have seen how teams scheme to stop him. He is a nightmare for defensive coordinators and still makes his plays.

I have never seen a WR his size be so strong or dangerous. There are hundreds of plays where he has gone up and taken the ball from defenders. Steve Smith made Jake a Pro Bowl QB.

I will make the trip to Canton when he is inducted.

    • I think the player matters a lot(in regards to price specifically). Parsons will likely end up being worth the price because he is unquestionably elite. Burns obviously hasn't been until this year because he isn't a consistently elite pass rusher. He is too easy to shut down with just a single blocker.  Guys like Parsons and Garrett that you have to plan your entire blocking scheme around make everyone on the defense better. Truth be told, that isn't Burns on his current line, it's Dexter Lawrence. But, as you pointed out, situations still matter. Joe Burrow may be a truly elite QB but that doesn't matter a lot when he can't stay healthy or the overall team isn't good. Ask Matt Stafford about that in Detroit.   The Panthers aren't in a position to be liquidating the extremely valuable draft picks we have. Our roster is still a bottom 5 overall NFL roster.
    • I don't hate KK. The Canes overpaid and he's enjoying the benefits.  Anyone who assumed he was going to turn into an excellent player based on what the Canes paid him weren't paying attention. Sure, I wish he was much more physical, he's a big guy, and that's really all I was hoping for when he came to Carolina. Danault is better in the FO circle, better defensively and better down the middle, but it's a moot point now.
