Panthers want Star

Ja Rhule

One sexy draft would be Star and Short DT problem sloved.

based on the 2012 almost won games, with 2 elite DTs the road to the superbowl will be open again.

Best NT and UT in the draft. Hell to the yea.

Then snag Duke Williams in the 4th.

Star

Short

Williams

OL depth

Please Lord.

If he's there at 9, I would definitely think about it. But with only five picks, I don't know. I'd only be willing to give up the 6 or 7 (5?), and I don't think they'd take it.

Yea, we'd have to consider it if Star is really who we are after at. I would think at least our 4th and next year 2nd.

A DT needy team wants the best DT in the draft?

SHOCKER!!!

LOL, my thoughts exactly.

I think we can count on one of the top 3 DT's (Lotulelei, Floyd, Richardson) being there at 14, it's just a matter of how they stack up on our board against the other players that are there. I think it's pretty safe to assume that Lotulelei would be the highest player on our board if he falls to 14.

I think Star gets taken in the top 7 picks. I think Floyd has been massively overrated even though he is a great player. Star's health checked out and people act like teams are gonna pass on him for it? This dude is the best DT in the draft.

If he does somehow drop. We got the steal of the decade. This guy on our team would be so dominant because of the surrounding players it would be nuts. Our front 7 would be top 2 or 3 in the league on paper.

CJ Edwards Lotulelei Hardy

Beason Keek Davis

With Alexander rotating in....That is fuging insane.

Man I got chill bumps reading your post. I am soooo excited!!! I won't be doing much work today or tomorrow at work. My mind is stuck on the possibilities!!!

I agree completely. I think one of the top 2 DT's (Lotulelei or Floyd ) will be there. I think there will be a run on quarterbacks before we get to pick causing one of top two DT's to fall. I predict at least 2 to 3 quarterbacks will be gone. Despite the reach it is a quarterback driven league. You don't have a chance at a dynasty without a franchise quaterback. Tavon will be gone too.

I'm as wowed by Tavon Austin as anyone, but a 5'8" WR in a vertical offense is a tough sell - Smitty is 5'9" but plays like he's 6'5".

You wouldn't put DeSean Jackson in a vertical offense?

He's not much taller and weighed even less than Austin when he was drafted.

Austin could be used like Darren Sproles (a player Ron Rivera openly covets)

    • So Willis had a good game against a poor defense and all of a sudden he is worth 50 million and is guaranteed to be better than Young. LOL I know he looked good in the 3 games he started, and I think he will have success long term, but anyone signing him up for a long term contract for 50 million is taking a huge risk.
    • Is he really though? Rivera was past his prime and probably shouldn't have even started 2019 so his firing wasn't really unexpected or unwarranted. Rhule lasted two and a half years which was about one year too long in my opinion. Bringing him back that third year certainly wasn't impulsive and I would say Tepper was more patient than he should have been. Wilks finished out that third season and did pretty good but most everyone could see he really wasn't anything more than an intern HC. Bringing him back was not the long term answer so not bringing him back was the correct call. Hiring Reich was a mistake from the beginning and he recognized that fairly quickly. I am sure he knew he was going to catch a lot of sh*t for firing him so quickly ( and boy did he ) but it was absolutely the right thing to do given everything that was going on. The firing may have looked impulsive, but I think it was him recognizing he had royally f*ck up and just dealt with it instead of letting it fester.  That brings us to Canales. 2025 was only his second season and yet he delivered 8 wins and the NFC South title. And while that might not sound great, given the lack of talent and cap space they started with, it's a strong step in the right direction. I couldn't imagine Tepper not being pleased with their progress given the crap the Panthers' have been though under his ownership.
