RABBLE RABBLE! We didn't get X in round 5 and he would've started! RABBLE RABBLE

Recommended Posts

Last year I watched the board for round 1 and all I saw were posts of people complaining about Keek because WE ALREADY HAD 3 LINEBACKERS RABBLE RABBLE.

One year later, everyone's sucking everyone off over the pick and how he's the cornerstone of our defense.

This year, everyone's complaining because we don't have another 5 string CB but instead took a backup LB and a RB whose job will be to receive (something D-Will cannot do at all and J-Stew isn't amazing at)?

Some people are acting like not getting some defensive back that's been passed up by everyone in the draft for 4-5+ rounds is suddenly the end of the world.

Look at what the Giants did--a team that's won 2 Super Bowls recently and taught Gettleman how to draft. They took Ryan Nassib.

THEY HAVE ELI MANNING.

I doubt Giants fans are throwing crap at each other because a pick was spent on a QB despite their lineup.

The Panthers, stat-wise, were ranked 13th in least amount of passing yards allowed. And no, you can't say teams just ran on us because the Panthers ranked 14th in least amount of rushing yards allowed.

Our secondary is lacking flashy names. What did the Falcons with Asante get them? Destroyed by Russell Wilson AND Colin Kaepernick.

What did the Jets with Revis and Landry get them? Nothing.

Our team's front seven has been solidified and we will now be able to do more packages on defense.

Not getting a 5th round safety or cornerback is NOT the end of the world. I know this has been said before, but holy crap guys. Your bloody tampons are making it too hard to read the board.

imo great draft and filled a lot of needs. everybody loves the patriots picks, but they are taking quantity over quality. Their drafting has been very mediocre. What they did have during their run was tom brady and allow their players to walk or traded which allowed them to make many mistakes in drafting

people acting as if we ever had a chance of getting Quality starters in rounds 4-7, anything after the 3rd round you are lucky if they are on the team in 2 years, much more so if they end up starting and turn out pretty good.

now are teams going to find solid starters in rounds 4-7 yeah, but those are the exceptions to the rule not the other way around.

I never care who we pick up after the 3rd round because 9/10 it doesnt matter.

Giants are a much better team than us they can afford to just draft backups. We needed players to challenge starters at wr and the secondary. So keep following your overseers blindly.

The secondary is going to be perfectly fine. The campbell/godfrey combo will be serviceable. Having Munnerlyn and Moore gives us arguably the best pair of slot cover corners in the league and Thomas/Dockery/Florence will give us something on the outside (bonus if Norman steps his game up).

We are not going to be giving anything up on the ground this year forcing many 2nd/3rd and longs with a disgusting pass rush and great nickelbacks to keep those short routes covered up. Good luck getting enough time to throw the ball 20 yards downfield.

This!

If you don't get it, read it a few more times

Great draft love the depth pieces. I thought we might take a couple offensive pieces but we went DT,DT,OG,LB,RB. I'm beyond pleased. If Marty was making the picks I would be furious. I had lost all faith in him as a GM outside of his first round prowess. I have no reason not to trust Gettelman. I'm ready to see these guys in camp. We are gonna be good. Someone remind me what our record would have been if the defense could have held on at the end and got 1 more stop? Right about 10 wins wasn't it. That's wat Ron needs to stay here and ths draft just gotta for him. Good job cats!!!

    • Evero to the Raiders makes zero sense unless the OC he's pitching them is a failed HC who doesn't have interest in trying for it again. They're a team about to draft a QB #1 overall, developing him is job #1 for the new coach/staff.  Hiring a DC with a young up and coming OC wouldn't make any sense, because then you risk losing that OC to a HC job after maybe just a year or two and that young QB has to change system, play caller, etc. It's why hiring an offensive minded coach makes the only sense.  The Raiders have to make the right hire/pick with this HC hire and #1 pick combo because of that division they're in, it's a gauntlet and you can't screw up this opportunity.
    • 1. Sadly, it's just too early to tell with Icky. And the draft will have come and gone before we have anything, FA, too probably. Njiman was good, but there's dollars to be invested there as well. This is really our biggest puzzle to figure out. And Moton on the other flank is getting long in the tooth, too.  2. Coker: Pay the man WR2 money.  3. Most WRs take three years before you really know what you've got. We'll know for sure by the end of this one and he's still on a relatively inexpensive rookie contract. Now if someone comes calling for a good, good trade... 4. This is the make or break for good teams vs bad teams. And depth development is essential. We've had a bit of that but there isn't a spot on our line that doesn't have worries except for maybe on guard.  5. I think you draft the best ILB, the smartest one in the first round and don't look back. People lost their poo here on this board when we "wasted" a pick on Luke Kuechly.  6. Yeah, I think Chuba is a workhorse. But we need to be more decisive in his use. Still not sure Rico doesn't come back next season, too. He'll get to see the marketplace first, though, and we'll offer similar numbers to him.
    • I've grown to enjoy Mike & Tripp, even more so after listening to the ESPN, TNT, TBS hacks who, for whatever reason, seemingly don't know dick about the Canes.
