I was thinking the same thing. I agree with his statement. Third year post draft is when draft picks are judged.

I find it hilarious people want to tear Cam down, but Bradford who is going in his fourth year is given all the excuses in the world.

Nobody talks about Bradford because he is irrelevant.

I have a feeling that Cam is going to have a breakout year this year.  But even if he doesn't and stays somewhat parallel, that is still okay and he is right where he should be as a third year QB with his background.  I mean he has accounted for over 60 TDs in 2 years. 

 

The only thing Cam really needs is continued experience.  He does have some minor issues that he needs to tweak, but overall he has been great.  Just needs to continue to get experience.  Even if he doesn't make that leap to top 5 QB status this year I don't think we should fall into the trap of hand wringing and clamoring for a new QB.

 

Almost every QB I have researched has taken 4 to 5 years before you see them truly settle in.  I don't see any reason why Cam should be the exception to that rule.

cam isnt what is holding the team back. it's coaching.

 

agreed to an extent.  Cam did lose us 2 games with a fumble and throwing a guaranteed TD into the dirt.

 

lack of player talent (Naka) ensured the Cam fumble cost us the game..

 

 

 

edit:  let me clarify, I did catch Polian sounding like a jackass on the radio and expected this thread much earlier than it was posted.  And I don't believe a QB having the best 2 seasons ever is anything Polian should discredit as he did.

Seriously, it is utterly comical how little grief Bradford gets. If Bradford were to switch places with Cam right now career wise, the media would be on his jock and pumping him up all day everyday on every single network.

I thought the question he was answering was more ludicrous. If the panthers don't make the playoffs this year, should the team start looking for a new qb (or something like that). His answer was explaining what to look for a 3rd year qb to be able to do, regardless of winning or losing or making the playoffs.

aside from maybe one or two years, he's done nothing but get criticized. i know i haven't let up since he was drafted. i thought he was set up for failure and i laughed my head off when the jets were actually dumb enough to trade up for him. they were more looking for a pretty boy from california than a guy who could actually lead a team.

His passing stats were pretty much the same as Newtons last year. If you are going to throw insults at the very least attempt to inform yourself before doing so. Have a nice evening.

Ever since the sexual harassment issue he had at USC, before he was a starter, I have disliked that guy.
