I dont know if this is common knowledge, but I was reading history of team names. Even though there is no real meaning behind the Panther (that i know of) the Panther head is actually the shape of NC and SC combined to create the head. Thats why it will always look the the Panther is moving to the right. Just something I thought was interesting...

Well panthers used to live in the Carolinas and in the south back in the day so there is some historical relevance.

Yes. But the ears and whiskers are attatched to the part made up by NC.

Yea my gf doesnt know at all. She always calls them the NC Panthers because Im from NC and she doesnt know any better. My kid knows the difference though
