NFL/Microsoft(XBOX ONE) Aim To Enhance Fan's TV Viewing Experience

Recommended Posts

So Microsoft announces their new console and name it, "One" and it's graphics look the same as the current gen...yet it's meant to be a home entertainment center.

Sony announces a video game system...hmm...

Same as the current gen?  How can you tell that by a few cut scenes?  Btw, the PS4 and new Xbox are using almost they same CPU and graphics processor.   There will be very little difference in video quality this time around.

It's a fuging gimmick dude.  At the end of the day this is a game console, and if the games aren't on par with what the PS4 has to offer it will be a colossal disappointment, and the butt of a lot of next gen gaming jokes.  Sure being an all in one entertainment system is nice and all, but not at the expense of the consumers who are actually going to buy your product....

Actually, the growth is in the video apps.  They are seeing a huge jump in usage in video apps on the current gen.  Growth in gaming on the same console is not even close.  MS knows how to cater to both.  Today's announcement was a general announcement.  At E3 they will be showing off their games.

So what I'm getting from the article is that Microsoft paid the NFL $400 million, gave us a bunch of "what if" scenarios, and in the end, we can video chat over skype and a Microsoft logo on the replay booth?

Damn that was some seriously easy money for the NFL.

The cut scenes should be what really shows off the graphical power, and I'm left extremely disappointed.  All of the EA titles look just like their current-gen versions except hideously darker.

When you think new power and processing, you think more polygons and lighting...I saw none of those.  This just doesn't seem like that big of a leap as new consoles have provided in the past.  Hopefully that will change, but for now...I see no point in buying a new console.

At DDR3, the XBOX stands to (once again) have the slowest interface and yet again have the slowest rated graphic processing.

which begs the question, why not get a living room computer at the same cost but faster than next gen? Crysis 3 for pc has already proven to have better real time graphics than the next CoD on PC. On top of that you can do twice as much on a PC and still have a wireless controller or mouse and keyboard. Hell, the free 2 play space alone on PC has everything you would ever need when it comes to exclusives, throw in Steam big picture and call it a day. And lets not even start with torrents..

Umm the new xbox is crap, even girl gamers i know are shitting on it... Its THAT bad.

Considering it's not out yet and it still won't be out for quite sometime... she must be a hell of a gamer...

Or if you are referring to the 360, which is not new at all. I will disagree with you there, as once again I own both a PS3 and XBOX.

All I know is the xboxone will end up being twice the price of the ps4 after two years of xbox live. That and it wont play used games without payment, and no backwards capabilities makes this next gen an easy choice.

I actually read most of this thread and about laughed my head off.

Holy poo people!!!

Personally, I know a very large handful of people are very excited about this new console.

The whole backwards compatible thing and paying for used/borrowed games has been in the making for the last few years because the used games don't get the companies that make them any money, or the console developers. its a business. I'm not happy about it... but do you remember when people said they wouldn't pay for water in a bottle when they could get it from the tap? yeah, OK then.

A lot of the features they talked about today weren't "gamer focused" and yeah, that's lame. But what they did show was pretty impressive to me.  I'd rather have seen a live demo of game play, but I"m sure there will be focus on that at the gamer conventions come'n up REALLY SOON.

The whole NFL thing is cool and all but I'm sure you will also be able to turn off features. as in, not getting calls from friends wanting to talk poo during the game.

To each their own is right. Enjoy what you have or go with something else...

I for one am looking forward to getting the new Xbox One when it comes out.
