Deacon Jones Award!

Keep Pounding

That would be cool. People look back at the history of the award, and a Carolina Panther could be the first one awarded it.

Unfortunately for us, I think having multiple guys with high sack abitlity will split some sacks, and some OLB like Von Miller or Demarcus Ware will probably win.

Ware is moving to DE this year since their switching to the 4-3

Oh really? Interesting, I'm excited to see how he does as a DE.

Heard him doing an interview on NFL Radio a couple weeks back. He seemed excited and said it's an easier transition than trying to go from a 4-3 DE to an outside linebacker in 3-4, kind of like Freeney and Mathis were asked to do in Indy. (He did not mention them specifically).

Would have been cool if Jones could have seen his namesake award while he was living.

My thoughts exactly!!!!!!

It was pretty much a given that Deacon Jones was the Godfather of the Sack.  Should have done that when they first started to record the stat.

I would be even cooler if both CJ and Kraken were Co-Award winners.

MONSTER INC. would be engraved on the top of the trophy.

However, those numbers aren't exactly stellar by NFL quarterbacking standards. Even though the Panthers backdoored their way into the postseason in 2025 as NFC South champions with an 8-9 record, Young's performance was up-and-down.
