Why do you think we are a + 7 win team?

I can appreciate the excitement that a lot of you have about 2013. I can understand the theory that our front 7 will negate the need for a strong back end of the defense. I can wrap my arms around our QB and MLB as the future. But I can't come to grips with the 10-11 win/playoff talk. I need you 9+ win prognosticators to sell me on why you think we will get to that total or beyond. I don't want anecdotal evidence, I want solid reasons. Start with our schedule, then look at our coaching staff, then look at our DBs and our oline and tell me how they add up to anything other than a .500 win total.

The winning post that can sell me gets an authentic Otah jersey for $50.

I think we finish 8-8 give or take one.

Not sold on OL, and that is the biggest issue.  I believe Cam's slump in part was do to horrible OL play.  We have not really addressed the issue.

Secondary IMO is doable with what our front.

WR, LaFell, Smith and Olsen are good targets.

The OL scares me.

I just bet 50 bucks with a friend the panthers would have a better season than the packers. Stupid, probably but the panthers have always crushed my dreams. Our front 7 will be enough to get our secondary through the year, ol and wr position both have questions but why not aim high like the kraken. Also, I will be in Afghanistan all of this season, I know this has been asked a lot but any recommendations for websites to watch the games?

Not going to predict a win total but....

Our secondary is young and nobody knows what its going to be like yet.

Josh Thomas and Josh Norman did a much better job than you many of you are willing to acknowledge. I have no idea what to expect out of the SS, because I don't know who it will be yet.

Our O-line should show some improvement as well. Kugzilla has a year under his belt,Kalil will be back, and Bell is entering his third year and I think its reasonable to expect improvement from him this year..

Having Kalil back and running the ball in a more traditional manner will make the o-line better. Plus A-rod got sacked more than anyone last year, so good QB play can make up for that.

Ron Rivera is going to get better or fired as well. Either way win there too.

Even if someone could read the future and tell you we would win x amount of games would you really even want to know?(aside from gambling purposes).

Log off the huddle and come back when training camp starts.

we are better than last year.

since we have moderate goals and expectations and are under the impression that we are building rome so slow growth is completely acceptable, i expect the improvement over last year to reflect that.

8-8

prove me wrong, team.

Pretty simple, talent level.  Sure, it's lacking in some areas (WR/Secondary), but the same can be said for every team in some area.

Advanced metrics last year placed us as a Top 5 team if I'm not mistaken (can't remember the exact stats).  The only thing keeping us from AT LEAST a .500 record last year was blowing our load in end game situations (both players and coaches).  Add to this the fact that we improved in areas with our draft picks, FA, and getting some guys healthy, and I think we're looking at 10 wins.  Maybe not good enough for the playoffs, but 10 wins is the number we should achieve IMO.

The last 2 seasons we have been in pretty much every game but lost multiple heartbreakers by a td or less mainly due to poor special teams and defense. We have improved dramatically in both facets.

We'll not have our base offensive play as the read option which cost us half a season.

Cam entering his 3rd season which is typically a good one for qbs.

No reason not to think we'll improve past .500 assuming we stay healthy.

Cam's light went on mid-year last season.  Consider if he had played the first half as well as the second:

 - No pick-6 vs. Chicago

 - No late game fumble in Atlanta

 - Catchable pass thrown at the goal line against Seattle.

That's a 10 win team right there.

Not to mention, he probably would have moved the ball better against Tampa Bay, and Dallas.

So, pin it all on him.  If he maintains his level of play, then we should be much approved.

Now consider the additions on the defensive line, and the return of Kalil and Beason.

Convinced yet?
