Key piece of info I took from that was that now I understand why we brought in Flo specifically and why Capt will be staying in the slot. This defense will now have the option to play bigger corners since they will have more help. The secondary will be very physical whether theyre talented or not.

I think Rivera has done a great job helping our strengths (pass rush) on defense. I think he definitely upgraded the secondary but there are some concerns although they did seem to flourish last year despite the patchwork roster.

Overall I think the d is much better (on paper) this year than it was last year.

All that said cant wait for the Panthers version of Monsters Inc to premier.

Still thin in certain spots at depth due to the Marty clean up. Im not a hater or supporter, I simply acknowledge that he was good in some areas and awful in others. That being said, I will be holding my breath in TC this year.

Here's to that time of year when the Panthers are fully healthy and ready to go. Some of the worlds greatest athletes right here and thats not exaggerating.

I agree with gettleman, it seams like to many people  forget that the foundation and the trenches is where it all begins. you combine the great wall of china and a cat bull dozer (or two :D ) and your pretty much garunteed a top half of the league defense.. throw in an amazing linebacker (or 3 :D ) and your top 10.  one safety or corner  that can handle his business, and your top 3.  I think were top 3 this year. we will see.

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
