B. Moore may be off the market soon...

We started running more, they did better with run blocking but they still sucked at pass blocking.

Ok, they sucked.

But we still won and Cam was doing great.

I'm on board! We need to Upgrade the O-Line! but some people make it seem like we have no chance of winning unless we sign someone else.       but, we went 6-1 with this group without Kalil...

Did I miss something.  Didn't the other day Ron Rivera said Williams was on track to be our starting guard before he got hurt?  I have faith that someone knows what the hell they are doing.   I hardly can believe that since we have the money we wouldn't address the OG spot if we really needed it.

I believe one of the very first things Gettleman ever said was sometimes the answer is right on your roster.  I believe Gettleman and Rivera are going to let Williams grab this spot before wasting any money when given the time.

I find it interesting about Scott.  Apparently he was let go from Buffalo because he wasn't in condition.  While that is a bad habit to get into doesn't mean it isn't fixable.   I read he was explosive and he definitely is a big boy.   this is from the C. Observer.

Big body: A day after being carted off the practice field due to dehydration, new offensive lineman Chris Scott received reps with the first team at right guard. Scott, who was listed at 6-4 and 360 pounds when he failed Buffalo’s conditioning test two weeks ago, also could play a role in the Panthers’ short-yardage and goal-line packages.
“A big body like that can have some success in those situations. But out here it’s about getting him conditioned more than anything else. And as he gets more and more conditioned, I think he’ll be more and more productive,” Rivera said.
“He’s got an opportunity. He’s a big, physical football player who’s got a good, initial pop. He is explosive, and he’s powerful. If we can just get him in shape and get him going, I think it can be beneficial to us.”

As if Ron always tells the truth, like the time he said he thought Brian Murphy was doing a good job with special teams. Next thing you know, he's fired. Or that time he thought Norman was going to "Great things for us" his rookie year. Save it.

Our oline is greatly improved over last year. Just getting our guys healthy. Having one develop at RG isn't asking much.

Stop with our oline sucks. It doesn't hold much water.

It doesn't hold much water but I have read numerous tweets from beat writers saying "Cam would have been sacked on that play in actual game." Lol, okay.

Weak argument.  So I guess you are perfect.  Once a player makes an impression on you that's it.  Is that about right?  So far I haven't heard him getting obliterated in practice against our 1st team d-line.

So let me put it to you so you understand.   2 things.

1. Richardson likes giving the players we have a chance to play.  Remember the Veteran purge a couple of years back.

2. Gettleman believes the answer in sometimes on your roster.  In this case, Garry Williams. Until they believe he isn't the answer.  I am onboard.

I will take their view on it over your the world is falling and we have the worst offensive line that has ever been put together.

Now I'm upset...

You could have literally paid him a bunch of money on a one year deal and gotten that money back for next years free agency to re-sign Hardy...

I'm sure part of the plan for resigning Hardy next year is rolling over a bunch of cap space from this year, which we wouldn't be able to do if we spent a bunch of it on Moore this year.  From what I understand we're right at the cap or just over it for next year, so we're going to need to roll over as much as possible.  We still need to resign Lafell and Hardy and possibly grab a FA or two.

That's what scares me. Either he sees potential in Kugbilla who, while promising, has hardly practiced or honestly thinks Garry Williams is an NFL caliber starting RG. It wouldn't surprise me if we scrape someone off waivers once teams make cuts, but it seems management really likes Kugbilla even though he's hardly practiced. That's the vibe I'm getting.

If he were that promising he would have been drafted higher .I get it if they think we have the talent on the team (though I have my doubts) but cannot believe you can have that much confidence in a 4th round pick that has not even practiced

In his latest interview Rivera said he was concerned with our OL so I disagree

    • I personally think you are trying to talk yourself into circles here... It's ok to say Bryce played incredible the last 5 weeks... I know there are plenty of people on this board who desperately need the doom-and-gloom narrative, but I genuinely question how much NFL QB play some of these people really have watched when they still question him being the unquestioned starter for next year...  Again, that being said, no one is crowning him at all. I think Bryce is one of the best stories going into 2025 bc his season last year was so outlandishly unprecedented. It's totally fair to personally not believe in Bryce. Plenty of sports "journalists" need to write stories, and that's an easy narrative path... But I think that actual people in the know rank Bryce much higher. That's the fun thing about sports... we shall see!
    • Regardless of how we got here, any rational fan should be excited by how well Bryce played down the stretch. Anyone not happy about that level of play either doesn't know what they're looking at, or they're still trying to drive tired narratives. Obviously, Cam had an all-time rookie season, and I'm not putting the two in the same basket yet, but as someone who has watched every snap of Panthers football since the start of the new millennium (Im old), Bryce was playing at a higher level at the end of 2024 than Cam was at the end of 2012 (his 2nd season). Cam continued to develop into MVP form, something Bryce has to prove, but as someone who watched both (and will stan for Cam always), Bryce was playing at a higher level to end year 2 than Cam did.  Go watch the film if you dont believe me. None of that means anything for the future. But the people who said BY9 couldnt play in this league are wrong.   That being said, the only thing that matters is this year. #20 is perfectly fair IMO going into the season. I mean think about it, how would you rank him??!  His in-season turnaround is one of the wildest things I've ever seen... how do you rank a guy who looked like a massive bust in September and by January was consistently playing at a top 10 level? My excitement level is pretty damn high heading into this season. There were throws from the Chiefs game onward where Bryce had Drew Brees levels of anticipation. Im excited to see what he can do with a full deck on offense, something we really never gave Cam. Really hope and expect Bryce to move up this list this season.
    • Not really, the only QB's (other than Anthony Richardson) ranked below him are new to their teams as a placeholder starter or drafted in 2024 or 2025, not a lot of gymnastics to get there. It's not about how many that is, if it's 20, 12, or 2... It means there isn't a QB who's team has committed to them for the long term right now that they have ranked below Bryce. That's not a great thing.
