I was robbed, violated....props to Wells Fargo.

I live in a small town, rural area.  What I like most about my house is it is not obvious...don't know it is there unless you know it is there...a little isolated.

Small town type stuff....I leave my purse in my car.  Have done that for 20+ years. Stopped after work to get some prescriptions.....gee.....no debit card or credit card (only keep one credit card in my wallet...asked for a low limit on that one...at least I was thinking there.)  Did I leave them in my car?  Could not find.  Hmmm.  Looked in my wallet....not money either (fortunately had only $20-30 I think.)  Got home, had a message from Wells Fargo...fraud alert...please call.

So...last night...likely about 1am...someone came to my house...got into my car which was unlocked....stole the money, debit, and a credit card.  Fortunately my DL was in another place.  They immediately began using them.  Wells Fargo stopped authorizing after 2 hits.  Amazing...their fraud alert is awesome...they could have emptied my bank account...only got about $100.  Then they had to start using my credit card....several uses...they maxed it out this afternoon. They worked throughout the night.

So, I called Wells Fargo and Chase....I will get my money back.  Called all the places listed...some were chains with store numbers...found out where they were.  Could tell them the exact time and amount of the transaction (or denied transaction) Most all have security cameras and said call tomorrow to get the pics.  One place already pulled it up..have a great pic...described the woman to me.  Another place said have the police call...said they usually recognize the people in the pic.

So, sounds like dumb criminals (hope the are caught).  But big props to Wells Fargo....their fraud detection system is awesome.  Only 2 hits went thru (will get that back).

OK, I have been naive.  Worked for a long time.  Sucks that I have to change.  Naive was nice.  I am not sure I will sleep tonight.  Will file a police report in the morning...already called them and asked for extra patrols.

My Grandmother lived in the same neighborhood for 40 years in New Jersey. She always left her door unlocked and I always feared for her safety. In the end smoking killed her, not a criminal.

That is pretty neat they caught it after 2 purchases. I live a bizarre lifestyle and I've never had my card cut off for a late night shopping trip. I bet they have really sophisticated big brother software that generates a profile on your habits.

I had to call into Discover 3 weeks ago for trying to purchase McDonalds. I picked up my Nephew from his soccer game and he asked me to buy him some McDonalds on way home. When I give my card to pay, the lady says it was rejected and said to call in. When I called in a few m uses later, it said it had flagged it since I haven't had a fast food purchase in over 5 years, so it raised a flag. So without a doubt, they are monitoring our purchases and creating a profile.

Also, the past two weeks in Europe, I only brought my Amex Centurion card and used it for all my purchases and they called my about 5 times to confirms some of my larger purchases even though they knew I was going there since I set up some things with their concierge service.

Big brother is watching!

The only way to get away with that poo is to just go to an ATM and make a large withdraw while keeping your face covered.

After Direct TV gives you a name you should totally try to find her on facebook

Then call me. I'm currently not doing anything with my time after relocating. I'm 6'6" and go about 260 right now. Call me "Crowbar Collections" and I'll go speak with the folks on your behalf.

Before I moved we had a rash of these car break-ins. The whole neighborhood was hit. If your car was unlocked, they got in and rummaged around until they found loose change or other stuff. My glove box and console top was open and the owners manuals and other stuff was lying in the passenger seat, noting was taken. My next door neighbor works for a city utility company and carries a gun in his car- they got it...

Sorry to hear it happened and despite finding the people, that doesn't get rid of the feeling that some fugging stranger has been in your stuff.

Glad everything worked out for you.

But Holy Crap....i can't believe anyone would leave their wallet in their car and their car unlocked....intentionally.  I know you said you lived in a small town, but there are dishonest people everywhere.  I don't trust anyone.

They also used my cc this afternoon to make a payment on a Direct tv account.  I have contacted Direct tv...expect that to lead to a name.

I couldn't care less what their names are/were. The key here is the address.... I might be inclined to recon the place, fug with them and generally terrorize them for awhile before calling the police....

Always lock up your car and house, it doesn't matter where you live.   I learned this lesson yesterday, as my mom (who lives in a nice neighborhood over in Indian Trail/Stallings) was attacked by a guy who was trying to sell roofing.   Seen my father was out and pushed his way in and pushed her down, luckily their 6 month old German shepherd pup attacked immediately and latched on.  The guy ran out the door with dog locked onto him, hitting the pup and all that, my mom got the pup to let go and the dog is ok even after getting kicked a few times.  Attacker got away and all we know is it's one of those white work trucks with ladders on the racks and it was a white guy.  This is why there will ALWAYS be a German Shep dog in my house.  TL;DR lock your doors, no matter where.  Don't open them for these roofing people.

    • Ok fair to judge only his starts.  But you do acknowledge that going from "he's waaaay above league average in a number of categories" to "here's a single stat where he's above league average (not "waaaay") and another where he is exactly at the league average" is a pretty significant backpedal, no?  I'm guessing he's probably in the ~10th range for completion percentage too if we're only looking at starts (I'm too lazy to isolate his starts and do the calculations), so I'll grant you that one too.  But I don't think completion percentage is all that meaningful as a standalone stat if it isn't bolstered by good TD%, Y/A, etc. On that note, for how much people like posting Passing Charts in here (*cough* CRA) - if you peep Shough's passing charts, he hasn't completed a single 20+ yard pass in the past 3 games combined.  His last one was in Week 13 against the Dolphins, which was a single pass of 24 yards.  I just want to be consistent in how we apply our standards - I think it's always been warranted to criticize Bryce for it (even dating back to his rookie season), but do we suddenly not care about that with Shough? And yeah I did acknowledge that Saints' fans have reason to be excited about him and complimented his poise, which is giving my props.  Still not sure I agree that he looks better than a "ton" of QBs nor do I think you or anyone have really demonstrated that.  I think you are generally one of the more reasonable level-headed posters which is why I'm confused at what I consider to be rather hyperbolic language about Shough.
    • I don't disagree with you, but want to point out that Tremble's strong suit has always been blocking. Case and point: on Horn's 25 yard run, he lays down not 1 but 2 nice blocks...and is looking for #3! https://www.panthers.com/video/jimmy-horn-jr-s-25-yard-run-gives-panthers-red-zone-access-on-first-drive
    • It is a popularity contest.  The selection does have meaning though. It is also 1 of the criteria that is considered for the HOF. The game does not have any significance. The team hasn't been to the playoffs in nearly a decade. That's why they don't get primetime national coverage. To the victors go the spoils.
