after all the beer and jello shots, can't remember there ever being a 4th preseason game....

Panthers fans sell your tickets...............Stiller fans will pay big money expecting to see the starters.

I don't even know what that means.
(No one knows what it means, but it's provocative)
No, it's not, it's gross
(It gets the people going!)

I'll be the contrarian.

I actually watch the whole thing. It's dry drab and a bit boring but its Panthers football and the offseason is waaaay too long to bitch about the quality of football that I'm actually getting to watch. That, and it means the fantasy draft for my league is about to happen.

Actually, I think this year's 4th preseason game will be much more critical than in the past, because we have so many position battles ongoing where the depth chart is not set in stone: including the #3 receiver, #2 tight end, #1 right guard, #2 corner, #3 running back, etc. We also have a number of young guys that will need the reps and the practice for the coverage teams will be invaluable as well. Frankly, I'll watch the whole game with interest.

Anyone else hate the 4th preseason game as much as I do?

I actually hate them all, but yes, the fourth is the worst.  The only redeeming quality about it is the final cuts follow.

I think they used to play 6.   Hopefully they can get it down to 2 or 3 soon

    • Yes, he's a tier above them, but you also touched on the money side of it.  With T-Mac locked in as our #1 on a rookie contract for a few more years, I'd much rather use that money that would be needed for DJ on our defense and develop Coker into our #2.   Especially given his contract situation as an UDFA, as his contract is up at the end of this year but we can keep him around for a 3rd team controlled year on the real cheap.  Which means we probably could get him to sign a very reasonable extension this offseason to give him a little more money while giving us a bargain contract for what he provides. DJ's contract is north of $20 million for the next 5 years, why pay that for your #2 WR with the needs we have on defense and you have guys like Coker, XL, and Horn on rookie contracts who very well could combine to be a serviceable 2-4 WRs behind a stud in T-mac? I love DJ and he'd be a great fit on this team as our #2, but the money side of it just makes absolutely zero sense, that's all it comes down to for me on this one. And no, I don't see the Bears wanting XL back in that trade, because they drafted Burden, who is essentially a better version of what XL provides, a player you want to get the ball into their hands and let them go to work.
    • I didnt see that many bad calls in the panthers cowboys game, but the chiefs especially in the playoffs were getting every single call they could get then the refs when it didnt matter would throw a call towards the other teams.  That I believe was the taylor swift effect.   But its crazy just thinking about how easy it is to change a game.  You dont need but a single ref to make a few close calls go towards one team over the other and in the nfl that is the game.
    • I don't think it's unrealistically blaming Bryce Young......to say has been a reason, sometimes a big one, in why our pass offense overall has been extremely week over the past 3 collective seasons.  I think that bothering anyone, is just being overly invested in some Bryce Young argument.  It's just a reality.
