Notice the media slowly building Cam up?

I've not seen anything positive.  Please give examples.  The only thing I saw this weekend was on NFLN they did a blowthrough on the weekend's games, and they only showed one play(the int) from our game while saying something like, "can't do that Cam".

What is the right way for the media to cover the panthers? Since it seems like we bitch whenever they diss us, ignore us, or hype us up.

Just some good ol' fashion journalistic integrity is all I ask.

That includes not doing the following:

- pulling quotes out of context a la Peter King "entertainer and icon" tweet

- sensationalizing a la SVP saying Cam is just a "me me me guy" or Cowherd saying Cam may be a bust after he breaks nearly every rookie QB record in the books

- taking blatant cheap shots at a player or team a la Prisco's probowl article one year late or NFL.com which has taken shot after shot on the Panthers and Cam this offseason

I get that a large portion of media now a days only cares about ratings.  They literally will say or write anything just to get a rise out of people.

The rest of the national media are really just bandwagoners.  They don't have the effort or will to pay attention to small market teams like Carolina, so they just follow each other's tails wherever that may lead them.

As predicted, they are starting to build Cam up. The only thing they like more than tearing an athlete down, is a story of redemption while building him up again.

fug the national media (most of them anyway)! They have lost ALL credibility when it comes to covering Cam Newton. We don't need any Johnny-come-latelys telling us what we already know and knew.  Lucky for them,  they are dealing with a gracious and classy kid who naturally displays decorum and sweet southern charm because he's really that guy.  If it were me, I'd be saying "Oh, now you wanna get on the bandwagon?  Like Martin always says, 'Get to steppin!'"

Furthermore, they are ready to Pearl Harbor him at a moment's notice. I'll never trust them.

    • The good thing about replacing a bad player is you really have nothing to lose. If their replacement is bad so what, you didn't get much worse and probably saved money.
    • I came over from the old Panthers Insider site. When Fox Sports bought that platform it slowly just started dying plus the guy who ran that site was dealing with some pretty significant health issues so the whole thing just slowly fell apart. Quite a few of us migrated over here. Not sure how many are still around.  I miss that place. It struck a nice balance of having enough active posters to keep productive conversation flowing but didn't have so much traffic that you end up with a lot of trolling BS. This place is getting there though since we shutdown new registrations but at some point we're going to have to open it back up or we'll watch this place slowly die off too as posters fall off for one reason or another. We just have to figure out a way to filter out the spam bots. It was a never ending battle to ban the spam bots to keep then from overrunning the site. You'd think they'd be a little more strategic. I mean, if you fill a site with nothing but spam people are just going to stop coming so it's not a sustainable model. But nope, every one of them makes dozens of duplicate threads filling up pages upon pages as soon as their account goes live.
    • lol...I don't remember that.  Although recalling what I had for breakfast yesterday is sometimes a challenge.  Hope it was a positive thing.
