If we make the playoffs who deserves the glory?

Assuming everyone stays healthy here's our projected new starters.

RG Gary Williams(already on the roster)

SS-Mike Mitchell

DT- Star Lotulelei

CB-Florence

So if we make a playoff run who deserves more credit Rivera or Gettleman? Obviously neither one will deserve all the credit as there's 53 guys on the field making things happen, plus some changes to the coaching staff.

That being said, just curious who do you all think will/ should be applauded more for the turnaround if things finally go our way this year?

I have to say Rivera as he will also get the blame if things go south.

DEFENSE!!!!!!

If we had a "defense" the last two years, we could've/should've/would've made the playoffs.

People wants to point the finger at Cam, but the only way we're going to make the Playoffs this year is gaining help from our defense. Flacco, Big Ben, and Eli are young QBs whom were very lucky to have very good defenses. That's why all three of them each have at least 1SB ring. Go look back at last season: Wilson (Seattle) and Kaepernick (SF).

If we go to the playoffs, the Carolina Panthers deserve the credit.  But if I had to choose between the two, I'd have to say Rivera.  It'd mean he finally learned how to coach.  Gettleman has done great things since getting here, but in the big picture his effect on the team for just THIS YEAR isn't enough to say that he's the reason if we have a good year.  I've always felt that if you can put the majority of credit or blame on one person on a football team, it's the coach.

    • Of course it's a crapshoot to find a truly elite QB. But we don't even need that to be competitive or successful. Our two best long term starters in 3 decades of existence were both flawed yet productive passers and each led us to a Super Bowl. Hell Jake Delhomme in the year where his arm went off a cliff and we had to start Matt Moore for a couple spells we had a superior passing offense than anything we've seen under Bryce Young the last 3 years. We're still trying to crack the top 25. All I'm saying is this is not the 2023 Panthers by any means. The cupboards are not bare. We are not working with scraps. We have invested through the nose to build up the roster and the trenches on both sides of the ball. We've also added multiple first and second day pass catchers in the draft. If a QB can't succeed here they are cooked.
    • That last line is the key. Passing game lives or dies off the running game. I struggle to see any help the passing has provided in return - there is no pass to op n up the run to speak of.  Add in that we have downgraded the run blocking at left tackle according to analysts, and I really don’t know what to expect from C….  It puts more load on th passing game to help out
