You're right, they are different.  But its something to be concerned about.  Yes its preseason but I wanna see Cam make those passes no matter when it is.  And we have see his propencity to do that during the preseason, season, and when the game is on the line.

 

We've also seen him make throws to win games, which is amazing to watch.  But we are looking for improvement...and making those kinds of throws can win games.

What if Cam wasn't mobile like 90% of the other QBs in the league, would it be more acceptable to take that sack? As you know, running is not a mandatory skill set for the position. What Cam brings to the table is extra, you should cherish it. Yes it was an overthrow, but it's through extraordinary effort he was able to make that throw. Remember that! For 90% of QBs in the league you'd be blaming the OL but a guy like Cam bring the blame to himself. Isn't it weird how that works?

Cam has more offensive production than anyone in NFL history 2 years in......and you are talking about him regressing?  B/c he is playing boring preseason football?

That's southern folks for ya. Very limited and selected memory. Statistics and trend is quite foreign to them.

Peyton missed a  guy across the middle after rolling out and throwing across his body to the middle of the field. etc

 

it happens. i think people are really over analyzing his game. lets not act as tho him missing a 5'9 WR on a 3rd and 20 play is a big deal. it looks a lot worse because the guy catching the ball is 5'9.Jake threw wounded ducks that were high and he got called a gamer for it, because they where caught.

Cam needs to work on his 3rd & 20 completion percentage or he'll never make it in this league. LOL

If everyone was honest, they would admit to being extremely disappointed and somewhat concerned. If not, then they know nothing about football or are liars. It is the nature of the beast in football. Each fan thinks his team is playoff bound this time of year and so piss poor performaces show up in threads like this.

The lack of execution concerns me greatly.

Concern 1.

We all knew the OLine was going to be a weak link, we have talked about it ever since the draft. Not providing pass protection and not opening holes is going to haunt us in each game starting with the equally quick Seahawks.

Concern 2.

Lack of QB accuracy and decision making. None of our crew seems to be very accurate at this point and sometimes a dump off pass is wide open to a RB and we choose a 30 yd pass which is wildly inaccurate. Not sure if all this is the game plan or just bad QB decisions. But the lack of execution on whichever receiver is chosen is concerning.

Concern 3.

Defense did not look good against the quick mobile QB's. Set a statue up in the oppostion backfield and we seem to do well, but if a QB is mobile, includeing Foles?, we struggle.

Let's be honest, with only our O against our D for the last few weeks in Spartanburg, we can dream up all kinds of scenarios of great seasons and sacking other QB's and our guys scoring 40 per game. But, when the rubber meets the road is in the first half of the season when every team is playing hard with hopes of post season. There is when we can truly judge ourselves and the progress at each position.

Not gonna name any names cuz I don't want to Stir up the pot and anger the great one, but some of you guys are acting like first day fans, meaning this is your first day being a fan. It's kinda creepy how some people can claim fandom yet be completely critical of most aspects of the team, especially the most crucial aspect of the team, our QB who actually revolutionized the position by the end of his rookie season.

And I'm done being cryptic, CAPantherFan, your whole argument was an abomination before it even had a chance. The fact that you just used a sports talk radio station to back it up is laughable. No sane person can listen to the thousands of misinformed nutcases that call in, or worse, host those god awful shows.

yes. the panthers are going to go 0-16. ron rivera will turn into a cyborg and blow up the stadium with lasers from his dick. charlotte will fall into a bottomless black hole and north carolina will literally explode into a greasy fireball of bojangles and ruined dreams. we are all going to die. prepare yourself.
