Post-cut Guards, who will we pick up?

Many of you will remember that around this time last year a thread popped up stating that the Buffalo Bills were stacked at DT, and that we should look at their roster for an upgrade at our weakest position.  I searched for that thread with no luck, if that was you speak up, and link that thread because you deserve credit.

We all know that Dwan Edwards has been a good player for us.

With that said, what teams are stacked at guard?  Which teams have a young draft pick looking to supplant the veteran on their line?

Talk amongst yourselves...

At this point I dont know if we are looking more at guard or tackle or a tweener that  can play both positions.I would imagine they would come from a team with a stacked roster like the 49er.

But really lack the knowledge to form any conclusions. I'm hoping for a RT upgrade more than RG. Bell gets beat like a drum where I track G-Will making solid blocks on the same plays

I concur 100%. Seems doubtful that they are ready to give up on Bell yet imo, so I see even less of a shot at them replacing Williams. Also Amini still needs to take the next step and show some improvement this year as well.

I was looking around at other teams rosters. Cowgirls had something like 16 lineman in camp. Not that that's the answer but there will be a ton of them that hit the market. I think we need at least 2 which means tough cuts (maybe Tauren Poole and joe Adams, pilares) and some not so tough ones like Jimmy Clausen and sione Fua.

The Cowboys OLine is in BIG TROUBLE.....and they are looking to add someone.

The guys they have in camp are barely camp fodder.

Like I said , it might not be the answer but there are gonna be guys out there is the point I was trying to make .

I agree with your point 100%....just pointing out that I don't think anyone wants any cast off from the Cowboys.

There WILL be solid vets in the final cuts....I just hope we go after at least one of them.

    • Bryce and Dave will determine how many games this team wins next year. It’s not on the WRs. The RBs. LBs. This is about 2 things: 1. Can Bryce continue to come up big in the few key downs that decide most games?  2. Can Canales evolve his play calling to counter punch like the big boys do. Half time adjustments.  teams that score 30+ points on the regular win more games than not. That’s on Bryce and Dave. The offense is top 10 at every position group, save for TE and QB. A baller TE is gravy but not crucial when the receivers are dudes.  The defense is the defense. It’ll be better this season, hopefully by a large margin, but Dave/Bryce is really where it’s at.
    • Normally I'd wholeheartedly agree with this. But I feel like teams figured out this offense after the Raiders game. Bryce was so inept the first 2 games that we couldn't really even run the offense. Dalton's first game showed what we had. But after that game, coverages got a lot tighter and windows were smaller. When Bryce came back in, his ability to extend plays made a big difference. It's really difficult to stop a QB that can beat/escape 1on1 tacklers. It puts a lot of pressure on the defense when you blitz. And he was completing throws in tight coverage with anticipation. Point being Bryce wasn't throwing to wide open receivers that were schemed open by the offense. Occasionally yes. But not often.
    • With the additions we've made to our roster combined with the state of the division and the conference as a whole there is no excuse for this team not to make a legitimate push for 8-9 wins. Anything less is honestly inexcusable. There will be no more free passes for being a doormat in this iteration of the league where even mediocre teams are competing for playoff spots.
