Hardy wants to get paid.

fwiw i think trading hardy would be a bad idea. our secondary's enormous flaws are being masked handily by our prowess at rushing the passer, and trading hardy would affect more than just his spot on the defensive line. gettleman has shown that he loves a stud-filled defensive line so i doubt he's in any hurry to get rid of someone who could easily be the top pass rusher on the team.

i'd be much more comfortable with grabbing a couple of guys as cuts come through and seeing what they can do for us.

If you think Gettleman isn't weighing paying Cam a record breaking contract against keeping a dominating defense in place then you aren't thinking clearly.

Gettleman strikes me as a 'big picture' type of thinker.

I have a feeling the phrase "blockbuster contract" may not be in the vocabulary of our front office for a while.

He said 2 weeks ago in an interview that he wasn't about the money.  He was about playing football.  His agent would be doing the negotiating and that money wasn't the most important thing.  Sure he isn't going to work for peanuts but he doesn't strike me as a guy who is that level headed or a businessman.  He is an art major for goodness sakes.  All the retweeting is about publicity which he clearly seeks.

There is a hidden message in that statement.

I can see why so many people want to trade Cam and Hardy. If you do it in Madden, you can get Andrew Luck, a teams 1st rd pick, and then a mid ranged Oline player. #InstaSuperbowl

Gettleman, pick up your controller and get this done ASAP!

I also have a problem with needing to be pie'd 10 times to get the "whole pie!" icon. Who in the world cuts their pies into 10 slices? A pie has 6 slices, tops, usually 4 if I'm feeling particularly good about the pie.

I still think there is a reasonable chance he stays here. We'll find out soon enough.

By the way, not sure the Cam money is going to be as high as everyone was predicting. Actually, not sure we even resign him at this point. Just being honest

How completely out of character for stirs to start such a debate about our franchise quarterback.

No agenda here guys. Move along.

If he didn't just get hurt I would trade Hardy straight up for the Raiders' LT Veldheer. Guy's a monster, and then we could move Gross to his natural RT. But alas, he is hurt, and this is the real world.

Still might not be a bad option. Have then throw in a third. Next year we could look at G, WR and CB with our number 1.

I only cut my pie into six pieces. I don't think I could eat ten

    • My long and rambling post:   The guy is all heart, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he came back even better next year. He’s exactly the guy you lock up. The money won’t ever change the way he plays.  It was a big fumble, but what 1,000 yard back fumbles once in an entire season?  Pride. This team is FINALLY seeing guys who obviously take the game very seriously. Hunt, Chuba, Thielen, Brown, Horn (CB), Coker, Bryce (IMHO). Bye bye, Spider-Man. I don’t see these dudes being OK with teammates half-assing practice or in games. I can see Brown and Horn coming over to talk to somebody.  Good team? Ummm, maybe, but will still likely lose more close games than they win unless this last draft turns in to LOB part 2. That’s a stretch.  Pretty good/decent team. Yes. They finished the season as a pretty good team. I know I sound like a broken record harping back to it, but going in to ATL and putting a 40 burger on them en route to an OT win. A bad Panthers team would have had their brakes beaten off. We’ve seen it.  Rose colored glasses on and bonging a 40 of hopium: There are watershed moments that occur that change the course of franchises, both good and bad. If Fox doesn’t pull Rodney at halftime, the epic journey that was 2003 never happens. On the negative side, Cam taking that one hit from Watt was the end of any and all Panthers relevancy and we’ve been the biggest losers in all of pro sports as a result. Watershed moments. LOB draft. Vinny goes down and the goat is born.  Will the ATL game be the spark that this franchise has desperately needed? Could it be that they hit the mega million jackpot with Princley and Scourton as eat QBs for breakfast? Sure would be nice having 2 all-pro edge guys on the cheap for the next 4 years.  A lot of unknowns, but at least it actually feels  fun again.
    • Ok LT and Petersen are a cut above everyone else to me cmc and Faulk are interchangeable on this list.  though Faulk was better career wise
    • Maybe faked was too strong of a word.  "Milked" may be the better way to call it.
