Panthers sign Wharton

I'm not gonna debate over a scrub. We bitch about how terrible we are at OL, but fans like you keep on vouching for terrible players to be brought in. Don't bitch when Cam is on his ass then. Stay mediocre.

At this point mediocre band aids are ok. We just need players who are capable NFL players on our team. Specifically another OT and OG.

"3. Geoff Schwartz - to KC: 1-year, $1.2m

2012 Grade: +5.8
2012 Snaps: 160

Summary: We called for Schwartz to receive more playing time all season as he was stuck in a one-sided platoon with guard Brandon Fusco. Schwartz played at least 10 snaps in eight different games, though 36 was his season high and he rarely saw the field for more than a short cameo. Fusco, on the other hand, started all 16 games while posting a -11.9 overall grade including a -13.6 in pass protection. Schwartz outplayed him in all facets — he surrendered only four pressures on his 84 pass blocks, while posting a +5.1 grade on his 75 snaps as a run blocker.

Schwartz will now have a chance to find full-time work as he heads to free agency. He has more than just this season’s small sample size to work off, as his last starting gig was in 2010 when he graded at +19.3 at both right guard and right tackle for the Carolina Panthers. It’s a safe bet that Schwartz will be on the field for more than 160 snaps in 2013."

Not sayin' PFF is the end all be all but the numbers don't lie...just sayin'. I lobbied for us to sign Schwartz at the beginning of free agency. Hopefully he becomes a cap casualty with KC being pretty strong on the OL or he can be picked up in a trade. He'd definitely be an upgrade over Bell and at worst could provide depth at both tackle and guard.

You said that being happy he was back was an indication of just how bad our OL has sucked. One would assume that you meant that we are so bad that having a subpar player that we cut back is a major improvement.

Nice try on trying to bait Kurb into this. I did not insult you. I just said that you should do a little research and then you would know what you were talking about in this situation.

Nice try trying to play the innocent little poster. I have read multiple threads on here today where you were in a pudding match with numerous other posters.

Most posters were not happy when Wharton was cut and that it was purely a cap play that we were forced to make due to another bad contract that Hurney signed.

Carry on.

Are you drunk tonight or what?

It was nothing more than a tongue in cheek comment about our OL woes that we have experienced lately. There was no mention of Wharton being cut because he sucked, or for being "subpar" as you put it. That's all from you.

Clearly this isn't about my post, but a personal grievance you still have with me. I literally haven't interacted with you since you got a warning. Yet apparently you've been tracking my posts in various threads, how flattering.

You sought me out here, not the other way around. Just to be clear about that.

If you don't have anything nice to say, just don't quote me anymore. Seems fairly simple. Adios.
