Cam Newton posts a better QBR than Russell Wilson

A lot of the "experts" on Espn love this stat and like to use it to bolster their argument. While I don't think Russell Wilson straight out outplayed Cam, I think he had the better overall game. I find it interesting that Cam had the higher QBR.

I thought Cam looked sharper honestly despite the stats.

 

Russell got about 60 yards from that sideline throw that he was bailed out by his WR where was trying to throw it out of bounds and around another 60 from that blown coverage TD pass from our secondary.

 

Cam just took what the defense gave him and the run game was clicking, except for when it mattered of course.

 

We know what Cam can do, but what we were doing was working up until key moments.

 

That said, Russell is an excellent QB.

I envy, and am sad watching how him and Kap are being coached up.

I hate QbR so much. I am going to create my own rankings that go from colored pencil to racecar.

Today, Cam was a motorbike, and Wilson was a rocket powered roller blades. Please see me for all your qb rating needs.

Cam would be fine with 3 INT's and no TD's if we won.

 

Winning is all that matters this season.

Almost all of Cam's incompletions came on flat out drops from his receivers. Without them he would have been over 80%. He looked excellent today, imo.

 

Lots of good things to build on.

that sideline throw was a 13 yard completion. the td was like 25-30 yards.

 

i always thought QBR was complete bullshit anyways.

QBR is worse than most baseball stats....and that's saying a lot

QBR is BS, but I think PFF's grading will show a similar parity between their efforts. Cam had a good game, and was let down by a stupid mistake by DeAngelo.

I posted this in the other thread about Wilson, but after the Seahawks first two drives where Wilson was 1-5 for 1 yard he went 24-28 for 319 yards and a touchdown the rest of the game. 

 

That stat tells you one thing, the defense played the pass horribly even with the really good pressure by the front 7,

QBR is poo. Both Cam and Wilson played very well today.

The difference between them was the drive killing drops. Seattle's receivers helped Wilson tremendously.

Never said I liked the stat just pointing out how Espn likes to use it when praising one qb and criticizing another. By "their" own statistical system Cam played the better game. Not saying I agree with it but just something to remember when we have to hear tomorrow why Cam isn't as good as Wilson.
