Its quiet.... too quiet

Have you noticed there is an overall lack of interest or enthusiasm in this game? Seems like this is the least anticipated game since 2010, and it really should not be. Even the opposing fans are quiet. Its difficult digging anything up on their end.

So here is the question... lets say the Panthers do win Sunday in convincing fashion. Is that enough to energize the crowd at BoA or will it be NY South?

This game is going to be very telling for this team. Did we loose a tight game to a really good seahawk team and we are really go ourselves. This seems to be the message coming from the players espc SMITH. Or are we a bad team stillmaking the same dumb mistakes. I think we are going to find out a ton about what the makeup of this team is this week.

This game is important IMO. Well all games are important. Teams only get 16 games so they have to play to win every game. I'm excited about the game. I'm anticipating our first win. Not saying it will be a walk in the park, but I believe this game we win. It will set us up for the revenge match with the Giants the following week.

i think i'm looking past this to the Giants game. And i know i shouldn't, or at least i hope the players are not (don't think they are at all)

because the Giants game is like a fork in the road to me. We win that game good things will come we lose, it feels like the same as last year.

People need to realize.. this is almost the exact same situation as last year. Even if we win, we face NYG both of us at 1-1. That is going to be the test. If im not mistaken, that is the game spent all my money going to and they layed an egg. Yeah, im not mistaken. Im still eating from dollar tree as a result... ( i need to hurry up and graduate)

I hope we can respond and turn the corner.

The next two games will be very important.

After NYG, we have our bye.

Coming out of the bye we have four very winnable games (@ARI, @MIN, STL, @TB).

If we can beat BUF and NYG, we will have plenty of momentum to win those four games to put us at 6-1, before we come up to the toughest stretch of the season (ATL, @SF, NE).

Even if we lose to the Giants but beat BUF, we would still be at 5-2 if we win all 4 of those post bye games.

All this to say, we need to at least win this game up in BUF.  I just realized how big of a game it is just typing all this out.

    • The meat and potatoes:
Out of 30 qualifying QBs in Week 1, Young ranked: Dead last in EPA (-0.60) Dead last in success rate (20%) Dead last in Y/A at 3.6 Dead last in passer rating at 27.5 How are you averaging just 3.6 Y/A on unpressured dropbacks in the first half of a game? Thinking back to that halftime deficit, I’m reminded of this stat: The Panthers led at halftime in three of Young’s 12 starts last year. They are now 0 for 1 this year. In his 29 career starts, the Panthers have led at halftime in 5 of 29 (17%). Since 2000, there have been 37 QBs to start at least 25 games in their first two years in the NFL. Young is the ONLY QB to lead at halftime in fewer than six of his starts. Young is the ONLY QB to lead at halftime in fewer than 20% of his starts. So many people were backing Young based on the super small sample at the end of the year when they thought he played better, and he did play moderately better. But even in those games, he delivered average stats against the NFL’s easiest schedule of pass defenses to close the year, with every opponent ranking 20th or worse. There’s never been a QB who rebounded from performance like Young delivered in his first couple of years to go on to become a franchise quarterback. Some stay around as a journeyman, but they don’t lead teams. The Panthers put all their eggs in the Young basket this offseason. The Panthers were the darlings to win the NFC South by many. Yes, it’s only one game, and there certainly are opportunities to improve.
The opportunity is to start someone else at QB.   I don’t want to see anymore debate in whether Bryce is the worst QB ever.  Especially not the worst #1 overall pick ever.  What a fuging bust.
    • I hope Adam Thielen is having a nice time tonight.
    • Let this sink in. This is the dude that theilen would rather play with than Bryce.   Oof
