If we beat the Bills, the Giants game becmes one of the most important Panther games in recent memory.

Yea, more than likely we will come away with a win in Buffalo, thats all well and good BUT if we win on Sunday, the game against the Giants could have huge implications on our future and have a domino effect that could change this ball club in a drastic manner.

Yes I know your initial reaction will be its only week 3 and still 13 games left to play. But its bigger than that. We have beat teams like Buffalo before. Jacksonville in 2011, Raiders of last year etc. Sure you can argue the Bills are better than those teams but thats not the point. The point is if we are 1-1 heading into week 3 against the Giants, it is a must win game. So what does beating the Giants mean? Well for starters it means we have won two games in a row, when the games actually still matter and we did it against a top tier team like the Giants.

Doing this will put to rest the notion that A. Panthers cant beat good teams and B. The Panthers cant win when it matters and C. The Panthers will be abve .500 for the first time in years. Going 2-1 at the bye will be a HUGE step and that frankly is an understatement.

If we lose to the Giants it will A. Show that nothing has changed whatsoever, we beat the bad teams and get beat by the good ones. B. The same ole Panthers cant win the big ones when it matters and C. We will have a losing record at the bye 3 years in a row.

Sure we might get incredibly lucky and beat bad teams en route to a 9-7 record, but frankly, would we even deserve it? Then again, who knows. Maybe we are 1-2 at the bye then come back and go 12-1 to finish out the season and in that case this post will be rendered pointless.

Right now we have to beat the Bills and put us .500 going into Giants game........I'm betting the players are going play this game with a lot of heart. This was  Cam's melting point from last year. I'm betting he puts up #'s like he did against the Falcons and the team overall has dominant game.

If they lose to the bills the season is over IMO. If they can't beat Buffalo, who can they beat? If they lose they will be 0-3 at the bye.

This is a game they are expected to win. I'm already looking at the Giants game. They need to finally beat a team worth mentioning and even though the Giants may be 0-2 next week, it's still a good team.

I think 2-1 is a must at the bye week in order to think the post season is a realistic shot. Some of you may agree some may not just my opinion.

    • This while he didn't single handily LOSE the game on any one play.....    He was a first overall pick, one we paid a fortune for..... the bar for him is a 10 foot dunk not a 5"8 children's rim.   32 for 49 for 287 with 1 td and 1 int in two games vs the worst team in the conference, two critically important games that we would be 9-5 and competing for the #2 if he had led us to victory....   Ive given him props for the TD to tet.... it was the best pass ive ever seen him make.....   But putting up these kind of numbers isn't up to par. Defenses stack the box and dare him to throw....  and he still puts up medicore at best numbers.    To win with Bryce young the entire rest of the team has to be absolutely perfect to make up for his deficiencies.... so while he didn't "lose" this game for us..... HE DEFFINATLY DIDNT GO WIN IT FOR US. (Which is the REALISTIC EXPECTATION)
    • His O is just built on taking repeated shots and that’s not BY’s game.  It was always a round peg and square hole…. But I also agree with your post.  I hate OC HCs.  Especially green ones.   I never liked anything about the setup
    • I get that. He's also trying to do HC and OC this year which I think is just too much for him. I think it's hard to call plays from the sidelines. That view from up top helps them see what a defense is doing better. A few HCs can do it because they have the QBs and experience to pull it off. DC has neither. I think DC may have spread himself too thin and Bryce isn't the QB to be able to pull of his end of it either. How much they compliment each other in creating this offensive bleh, yet to be determined. Doesn't really matter because it's still awful.
