Was Hangartner really that bad?

one of the dumber things we've done i retrospect, because we replaced him with exactly what?

and supposedly we released him early to give him a head start in finding another team, which he has failed to do.

bring him back. i'm not for taking steps backward, but at this point can we say that we would be by doing this?

crap, at this point i'd be for bringing back drayton florence and chris gamble in the secondary.

The huddle pooped on my gamble thread but he would easily be the best player in our secondary

I'm so frustrated with all the second guessing because so many people blindly agreed with what Gettlemen was doing at the time and so many of us who spoke out against it got blasted.

I was told by tons people on hear that we would bring in starters after cuts and that there was a plan in place.  Now we are two weeks into the season and Bell is going to get Cam injured and the secondary is the worst its been in years.

Gettlemen has a plan, I'm just hoping Cam and the fan base can survive it because it doesn't include the playoffs this year.

Geoff Hangartner went to the coaching staff and told them he was a step slow and his body simply was taking too long to get into playing condition after missing the 2012 season. But, he was part of an offensive line just a couple seasons ago that featured 3 of the 5 O-linemen who could play multiple positions (Wharton, Hangartner and Gross).

Just that flexibility and versatility factor should have been enough to keep the guy on the roster. But, in true Panther fashion, poor personnel decisions again reign the day and now they suffer the consequences of having no DB and no O-line depth.

    • I think where they would be picked if redrafted before both classes have played enough football to really tell.  Baker literally looked like a washout with us after Cleveland gave up on him, then turned world beater with the Rams, got a prove it deal with the Bucs and has looked awesome ever since. Asking where Ward would’ve went had he went in ‘24 is just stupid.  I’m no GM, but I wouldn’t have taken Williams #1 either.  I would’ve taken Joe Milton way higher than he went.  I think Shadeur should’ve been a first round pick this year.  Point being, opinions are like buttholes, everybody has one.  It’s my opinion that Ward has that “something special.”  I get that feeling that he’ll be an even better pro than he was a collegiate QB because of whatever that quality is.  I think he’s gonna surprise a lot of people, especially being such an under appreciated first overall pick.
    • Where do we get our T-shirts and hats? Pretty sure this is the first championship ever in professional basketball or football in Charlotte!
    • Nice turnaround for Kon.  I’m still a little worried about his ability to create for himself and others, but it was SL.  Come regular season, he will playing a much different role and shots will be there for him.  He showed some reason for hope - and not just him, but the whole squad.  I suppose for the first time ever, we have drafted and acquired enough young talent that we actually not only competed for once, but won the whole thing in summer league.     Kon, Simpson, and Sims made all the difference.  Almost every year prior I felt we always struggled because we usually didn’t have a floor general/real PG to get us into offense.  This was such a breath of fresh air.  And look at us!  We finally are champions!😂
