Panthers still 35% to make the playoffs

how do 67% chance to make the playoffs and 6th favorite superbowl champ go together?

i'm not complaining, but...

It's because they have us ranked as the 3rd best team in the NFL.  They sim out the season which factors in tiebreakers, so a team like N.O., who currently has a better record (2 losses, 0 in conference) is more likely to get in to the playoffs (and win the division) than we are, but has a lower probability than we do of winning in any given game once in the playoffs, thus a lower Super Bowl win probability overall.

almost, but we get the jets and pats here which helps and i think we can pull off beating the dolphins.

we also already lost to the seahawks so that's out of the way.

what we don't have out of the way is any division games yet.

it won't be easy, but i think it's definitely doable.

They have a brutal stretch going on. We very well can split the next 2, and still gain on them. Or they are for real, and we never catch them.

Best case, the 1st game at...that building, is for the Division lead. We spank them so badly, they are never a threat again.

Cam being Cam, teamed with this Defense. Yeah, I like our chances of catching, and overtaking, the aints.

In the grand scheme, losing to the 9ers is not a big deal. However, beating them would be.

Short story long. The Offense we have been watching is built to take what the Defense gives them. We are the Pats. The good Pats, when they had a D. Whatever it takes to move the chains, and score.

We don't have a Stud WR, yet, please, we have 3 guys with 30+ catches. (OK, Lafell only has 27.) Teddy has 21. That is pretty good production if you ask me. Who'd a thunk it? Well, that's another thread.

We are aggressively methodical, and physically efficient. We have become the Bully, Big Brother team. Rivera just got hisself a stenshun. With the way this team plays football. I can live with that.

    • Dalton is 1-5 as a starter. I wouldn't hold my breath.
    • That last thing is a bad trend. It has happened in three different seasons now. If it isn’t a trend, is it a tendency? Words…. What I mean is following a successful outing (and they are rare or scarce) with a stretch of bad outings.  The slow starts individually are slow starts. Looked at as continuations of the string that started game 1 2023, there is a pattern that may or may not be predictive.  The first game people said that he turned a corner, Green Bay 2023, was followed by those two shutouts to end the season.  Then continued with the two horrific outings that had AT throwing his helmet and Canales benching him. That’s 4 straight after 1 good.  The next one I would give him high credit for is the Atlanta game. One of his two best IMO.  He followed that with this year’s opening stinkers putting the team in a big hole.  It is so up, then back down.  His other best game was vs Dallas this year, I think the best he has played start to finish, he followed with an uninspiring performance against the Jets. I was half waiting on him to give that one away more than go win it, which was just a feeling, but then he got hurt. And here we are.  Just waiting for him to prove something if he can. He is going to have his shot the second half of the year. So we will see.
    • Before the Penix pick six, the panthers had run 8 plays for seven yards while up 10-0. That includes a 5 play, 13 yard drive out of halftime where Bryce threw incomplete on third down. In that exactly what canales wanted?
