I'm hearing RIvera is out if we lose Sunday.

If he does go now, hopefully we use the extra time and really research for a good HC candidate. A candidate that matches Cam's style rather then conflict with it. I hope JR realizes that it's not realistic to continue to push for one style (Steelers) and hope to win by hiring a muddled mismatch of personnel and players. If he wants to be frugal when getting coaches and players, then he needs to be accommodating and drop his vision of emulating the Steelers - because his franchise players don't fit that style. He needs to make sure that the puzzle pieces will have a chance at fitting, otherwise you have a disjointed everything muddled mess of a team. You build around your QB not your Owner...

Last year before Hurney was fired, JR asked him why the Panthers were 1-5

Hurney's answer was "I don't know". Hurney was fired.

What do you think Gettleman will say when asked?

This post right here speaks volumes.  If the question is ever asked of Gettleman, he is not going to fall on the same sword that Hurney did.

Correct.

Mainly because Gettleman did not hire Rivera. There is no egg on his face for Rivera's failures.

JR should ask himself....he is the architect behind some silly poo since 2010. Need a GM and HC who work together and strive to be something. His pairings have prohibited that

I'm so split by this comment; on one hand, I would love to see the Panthers run and throw all over the Giants on their way to victory Sunday- one the other, I feel that for long term future success with this team we need a completely new approach from a coaching standpoint. Can we have the best of both worlds? A victory this week, and a coaching change in the bye week.

He stands to lose more money from lost concessions and merch than he does paying RIvera to sit on the couch.

Merchandise, maybe, but opposing team fans will happily sit in our seats and take our places in the concession lines.

I mean you make total sense but history of Jerry tells me its just wishful thinking. I will give you this though. Rivera is going to go down as the wost coach in History of the Panthers. So maybe the silver lining is Jerry will save face and can his ass, admitting he was right to worry about Rivera and let Hurney talk him into a bad decision.

We saw this with Fox, but on the other hand I am sure the Hurney firing cost him quite a bit.

Hurney cost him nothing but the rest of his sal for the year. Hurney was working on a year to year contract after Fox. He also had to gain from firing Hurney, it allowed him to direct the blame to him and divert the blame away from Rivera. Now we are back where we started and im not sure there is a competent head coach on this staff.

Fox was fired and Hurney overpaid Fox's core....that is a silly handicap for a HC wanting to do different things.

Hurney deserves blame

Was not saying he didnt. But it diverted people from seeing Rivera for what he was. Everyone was saying the something you just did.

I think that is bad...

Realistically, RR is gone if we don't make the postseason. Why not pull for the team. Are you gonna be upset if we make the playoffs? Bc Ronnie won't be here otherwise

He isn't the answer. i would like to start rebuilding immediatly. I'm not going to be cheering if the Giants win, but i'm sick and tired of wasted seasons. Its time to do it right and i'm just eager to do that.
