On paper we should beat the Cardinals.. But the intangibles is what scares me.

Cam has hit his ceiling.  I never understood the term "this player has such a high ceiling." In today's NFL, how you perform in your first year is a pretty good indication how you perform throughout your career.  Cam still plays the same way he has as a rookie. He is still very erratic and inconsistent.  Hes never going to be that elite QB you can expect to go out and take over a game and win on his accuracy and football acumen like a Tom Brady or Peyton Manning.

Cam will be a Jay Cutler and maybe a Ben Roethlisberger. Very good, but never a great.

Cam had convincingly the best rookie season in NFL history. By your own comment you're saying he will be the best to ever play the game then.

Umm, they practiced before going on a CBA-mandated bye, which is pretty serious in saying that they CAN'T practice during that time. And they're going to Arizona, which cuts out another practice period. It's not like they're slacking for the hell of it.

The new CBA practice rules should only apply to winning franchises.

I for one will be disgusted if they revert back to old form and blow this game and this opportunity. No excuses will be acceptable anymore.....either crap or get off the pot as the saying goes.Last chance to get it right and begin down the right road.

lol....Cam can't even see his ceiling. He is 2 years and 3 games into his career. With limited college coming in.

No, he will never be Brady or Manning. It is also silly to think they represent the best Cam could be. If Cam reaches close to his ceiling he will be going up yet in a different direction than those QBs. Totally games.

That is the problem with the crowd critical of Newton.....too focused on being like Brady is the way to be great

cam has never had a TD/INT ratio this good through the first three games of a season

yeah he's "regressing" though.  22 TDs to 4 INTs in the last 10 games is better than what aaron rodgers did over the same interval by the way.  the same number of TDs and fewer INTs.

the past 10 games Cam's qbr = 97

A lot if it is execution. Our defensive gameplan against NY was pretty boring and safe. Front just one there one on ones in a landslide.

RR IMO does a good enough job of putting our players in position for them to go out and win about every game. Hopefully they show up in AZ

quarterbacks like andy dalton and christian ponder are examples of guys who've "hit their ceilings" okay.  guys like cam, luck, and wilson are the ones who've shown a clearly upward trending trajectory even though they've had their rough spots here and there.

cam is not the same player he was as a rookie.  he put up eye popping numbers through the first half of his rookie year but was also turning the ball over like crazy because chud was letting him sling it close to 40 times every week.  teams were daring the panthers to pass, so they did.  chud started to limit his attempts as the second half of the season wore on and began to use him more as an all purpose offensive weapon, which was effective at that time as the bucs can attest.  in 2012 he went full retard with this concept in an attempt to pump up his "genius" cred for a shot at a head coaching job as we're now aware.  cam would go on to play himself out of a horrible rut by year's end and would finish with similar efficiency stats and fewer INTs than his rookie year.

now it's 2013 and cam's been more careful with the ball and more efficient through his first three games than he has been at any similar point in his career, a trend that has carried over from the end of 2012.  he's not the same player that he was in 2011.

Let's be honest, Cards have a better secondary, receivers, special teams, coaching, and not better but solid LBs. We have better DL, RB, and QB (depending on which Cam shows up).

This game will be close and I'm not quite sure why we are so much better on paper according to this site.
