..... Big reason we lost first 2 games

Definitely the Buffalo game for sure.  I was screaming at the TV all game about how bad and slow he looked.   I had read somewhere the stats on how many yards against the team were due to him and the yards after catch were worse.  The fact Rivera kept him out that entire game and never put Blackburn in then was one of the biggest reasons I was calling for Rivera's head after that game.

Good luck to Beason and still hoping the Panther make this a season and play some meaningful games later in the Season instead of garbage time.

You'd rather he ride the bench all year and lose him next year without compensation?

a 7th isn't compensation.....basically on par with your UDFA talent.

Long season, early bye....plenty of time for him to work on getting better.  13 straight games....we will have bodies go down.  We are already on the hook for Beason financially in reality (trade doesn't really help much there).

Great trade Gman...........

two yrs. from now we'll all be laughing about how we got the better end of the deal.

yeah, remember that time we traded Beason for a 7th rounder....who didn't survive the preseason and was beat out by several UDFA.  Gettlemen is one crafty bastard.

I mean you can argue this is good if you are Beason.  Gives him a shot....but from our perspective, I mean didn't win anything.

I think this is why Beason restructured and just took a loss on the money.  Players don't resturcture just to help the team out.  That restructure made it possible to trade Jon which is what he wanted because he knows that with Luke he'll never sniff MLB for the Panthers.  Good for him.  I hope he does great for the Giants and becomes a Pro Bowler again.

    • If we don't go OT, we will regret it.  What bothers me?  Are we going to get a starting-caliber OT at 19?  I think the draft is solid at OT, and the more I read up and watch video, the more I watch Lomu, the more I want him.   I see Freeling as a RT who needs some work in run blocking (since we need to run first, maybe not a good fit) and I see Proctor ending up as a Guard.  After Lomu (assuming Mouigia and fanu are gone), I think we wait until round 2.  In round 2, there are about 3-4 I like (Zuhn--good pass blocker and VERY underrated right now; Tiernan is a very good pass blocker as is Miller from Clemson, but both are not good in the run game.  Max Ixxxxx from Ariz St is impressive too---technically, there is not a of difference in these second tier guys--good in pass pro, need work in the run game.   If we wait until round 2 for an OT, we probably need to sign Nijman and start him early.   I almost think this is what we should do if Lomu is gone.  There is a big dropoff after him, imo, and I think we'd get better value if a stud ILB or edge is there.  Someone like TJ Parker Clemson makes sense. If Lomu is gone, trading back might be the play.
    • And what is x gunna help with except show him what not to do. Plus for the first year and a half he was just an obstacle
    • I understand that some people want WR. I am solidly against using yet another high pick there. Coker is pretty good and we used No picks on him.  What I think we really need at WR is a little bit of a Smitty lite. It is ridiculous to say let’s get a Smitty because you just can’t do that, but someone not tall and long striding but more in his mold. I think we’d have a pretty well rounded group.    Looking at tackle, with replacing Moton looming, it just seems like the no brainer.  You fill in Icky short term. Depending on how he recovers, and how the new guy plays, you go from there. A tackle at 19 is most likely either a LOT, a ROT, or a big talented guard, at worst. We will need all three in the next couple of years.  I would love to have a stud ILB be there at 19 but the OL is the responsible thing to do I believe.
