WRs don't matter. Carolina has historically proven themselves completely incapable of covering TEs throughout their 18 years. The only pass receiving threat the Falcons have is Tony Gonzales and Carolina could do nothing with the 37-year old TE.

The remainder of the season:

San Francisco: Vernon Davis (speed of a WR in the body of a TE- beast)

New England: Gronk (every talking head on TV thinks he's the best in the league)

Miami: nobody to worry about

Tampa Bay: nobody to worry about

New Orleans (twice): Jimmy Graham (probably better than Gronk)

New York Jets: nobody to worry about

Atlanta: Tony Gonzales again

I happen to believe Vernon Davis is a better all around TE than Graham or Gronk. He can line up in the slot and easily run past any LB you put on him, he'll line up as a 4th WR and dare you to put a CB on him.

Davis is the most targeted TE in the league, getting thrown to 23% of San Fran's passing plays. His YPC at 17.9 is a full yard and a half further than the #2 guy. Don't forget his 7 TDs are third among TEs.

    • A 12 year old playing madden can draft better than anyone the panthers have had under David Tepper
    • Throw in the fact that you have to overpay free agents to come here.  Everyone wants to win--or at least have a decent chance at winning. This followed the Bryce Young trade up draft.  That is the draft that crippled an already crippled franchise.   They moved up to #1 and paid the king's ransom only to admit that they weren't sure who they were going to draft--then they picked the wrong guy....amazing incompetence. Now let's take a look at the AT trade--we basically got some future mid round draft capital.  Minnesota has a QB on their roster who reads quickly, is accurate, and is only 24.  (Brosmer).  Minnesota is keeping him on the roster because on the PS, they would lose him.  Is he the answer if we traded AT for him?  Maybe not, but there is potential--as much potential as you will find on day 3 of the draft.  He would be, at worst, the best backup QB on the roster.  Now, did we give Dalton a ton because he has a good relationship with Young?  What if Young does not work out?   Then you have 2 mistakes and no QB. I dunno--I believe in competition, and I believe there should always be efforts to improve the roster--are we trying to make ourselves not look inept?  With Baker and Darnold leaving Charlotte for successful turnarounds, are we capable of having a good QB?   Cam was natural ability and he had the Alpha gene, and we drove him into the ground.
    • When he looks like trash this week against the Cardinals what's going to be the excuse?
